Awesome ideas! Love the way you re hinged the doors!! Love the design too. You were super clear on what you did and what your sources were for the most part! Thank you for you time to share the info!! Even 4 years later it's still valuable !!

Love what you did with the interior cabinet hinges by moving them sideways. Brilliant!

I would love to see more detail on the switch control panel in front cab. What you did is amazing! It looks so integrated now. I also wanted to see what you did with the doghouse cover. I have one in my Class C Ford RV, that is similar but less functional. Mine is pretty useless. Drinks don't fit the cup holders, and there is one giant hole for storage which becomes a hot mess of junk. No place to put documents like registration and insurance in my RV. I so badly want to change that out but cannot find a replacement that does any better. Due to the curved nature of this beast, I cannot buy or build any pocket storage either. I would welcome a solution. My doors too are totally blank, no pockets to store documents. With regard to cabinets, I really liked the black plexiglass and wished you had not covered them with vinyl. Even thought the vinyl looks very classy on the cabinet framework and dashboard, the translucent glossy surface of plexiglass let in more light and looked very stylish. I would remove the vinyl from the doors and instead, add some dim LED lights inside the cabinets with a remote. It would act as a light panel for mood lighting inside. Great work!! Please be sure to show details of build in your videos, such as hinges, handles, switches, ... all these are very useful examples that help us with similar solutions. Thanks for your tour!

I was so busy during the build I didn’t video it. I went to the recking yard and found multiple factory options for the dog house for cup holders and storage. Ford made a few different types and as near as I can tell they all worked with my doghouse mounts

Thanks this was a lot better, far as the sound being loud enough so I could hear. But I missed a lot on the other video.

That is amazing, you are a true artist I found a 2009 ford Diesel ambulance 168k $5000, only issue is who can help me customize it and how much will it be, I really think if you want to live like a Nomad an ambulance would be the best to customize cause it’s basically ready to make into a home

I think the cupboards look better with the black tint than the timber, might be a bit much if it is all done in the same finish?

Hi Ryan, Awesome job on the Ambo, man. Are you gonna wrap it?? Do you think you could fit 37's under there with a Ujoint conversion, 6" lift and Super Single conversion out back?

When you cut into the rear cabin for your window, vents etc aren't you concerned about hitting wires? I've been trying to find a diagram or something that shows me where all the wires and lines are ran in the back cabin so I know which areas to avoid making holes in and which ones I can miss everything. How did you make sure you weren't hitting anything important?

I cut a small hole and inspected the area before cutting to much

Looks great! I'm a big guy (6'5") and the pass through door is damn near useless to me. I'm thinking of installing a F150 center console that flips up to be a 3rd center seat. My youngest is 10, and the extra front seat would be a perfect spot for him. Have you ever considered this option?

Beautiful job. What's the gas mileage? & interior hight? Thanks.
@protint44675 жыл бұрын
It seems to average about 12mpg I have had as high as 14.5 on road trips without much elevation change, interior height is 6'2" but this varies from ambulance to ambulance. My niece built one and it was about 5'8" inside

I know it is not going to be great and all but... what is the mpg on that thing?
@protint44676 жыл бұрын
I just got back from a 600 mile trip and averaged 13.5 mpg, WE drove from Salt Lake City to the Grand Tetons and had to go over many mountain passes and did 60-70 mph most of the way.

can you give me some more info on how you got the electric t-case to work? like what trans do you have and what you had to do to make it work? thanks, my ambo is coming along nice, how can i send you some pics?
@protint44676 жыл бұрын
Mike Gosh, I found some info on the web on it. Basically you run the servo in the transfer case with 12v in both directions by reversing the polarity. I would recommend just getting a manual transfer case if I were to do it again
