Every time I see a MUX I remember when “the car expert” was ragging on them and pushing the Colorado7…..and how did that turn out 😅

I got same size tires for my LST. To make spare fit, just need to deflate it to about 15PS and it will fit with about 20mm clearance

No loops for light protection isn’t something I would consider, a roo on the road would be all it takes you don’t need to be off-road but otherwise looks great 👍

Great single person set up. Not family friendly unless you tow something as well.

As a family of five we travelled the east coast regularly in a Jackaroo. No roof rack, just a extremely well designed floor to roof storage system. Very top, (accessed from back seat) slide in storage for pillows, sleeping bags etc. all extremely stuffed in. Under that, accessed from rear was a 900 X 900 table and 4 chairs that slid out/in of its own compartment. Under that were 8 drawers on 2 full length slide in & out fridge style sliders, (4 on each slide). A draw each for clothes, a draw for toiletries/towels, a draw for jackets etc. an overflow draw for when more storage was required, loaves bread, fresh food etc. Below that were two full length slide draws on the passenger side, upper shallower one for cookware, plates, cups, cutlery etc. the other deeper one was our pantry, and housed camp oven as well. Below it was a full length slide out/in table for food prep. On the driver's side was a deep slide out full length draw that housed heavy bulky stuff, 20lt jerry can of fuel, dual burner camp stove, gas bottle, tools, Esky (fridges not common back then), etc. Then, top rear passenger side inner window we housed 40 litres of water that slid forward to be flushed & refilled by rear passenger door access, below it was dome tent, tyre repair kit, tyre removal plier tool kit (very heavy, hence low) all accessed by rear passenger door. Drivers top side was a slide in and out vertical recovery kit containing a extremely heavy duty turffer winch (heavy in weight also), it's 20mt wire cable, pulley block, bow shackles, winch extension strap, tree protector strap, plus snatch straps. This frame slid forward so recovery gear could be accessed by rear passenger door and also back out the rear barn doors so as if either one was blocked (tree/bank), you could still get to recovery gear. Below that was other numerous fiddly items, radiator hoses, spare drive belt/s, compressor etc. Behind rear seat we housed turffer handle, umbrellas, under the seat we had spare shocks etc. The passenger compartment was totally vacant ready to comfortably accommodate 5 adult passengers. Now tell me a family of five can't travel out of a std wagon. We did it. What not many knew, the rear storage of a Jackaroo was larger than a Patrol or Cruiser, with far broader higher access than either of those more rated vehicles. We updated to a new Jackaroo for that reason, everything just transferred over. After that we looked at 120 & 150 series Prados but they are exactly 150mm narrower than the Jack, so out of the question. I always wanted a 76 cruiser, so brought one, but storage system didn't fit it without extensive mods that never occurred as we disliked the 76 terribly, it's a very overrated vehicle, Jackaroo was so superior on & off road. We then looked at 200 series, again not as large as Jackaroo, so we opted for Patrol. It was not as large either, but it had barn doors that we preferred to the cruiser split tailgate. We now set about modifying the storage system to fit. We lost the upper pillar/sleeping bag storage, lost our 40 litre water storage, lost our recovery slide. I now have a 60 litre water bladder mounted behind rear seat, RTT as no tent storage space, built in winch and upgraded to light weight recovery gear, stored in various parts of the car, (inner drivers door compartment, a cradle infront of our RTT, all over the vehicle instead of one slide in out vertical cradle). I was a Isuzu fanatic but unfortunately the MUX couldn't make our shopping list as it's internal proportions are similar to the Prado, far too small. The Isuzu built Holden Jackaroo was a phenomenal vehicle, so overlooked, extremely comfortable long distance tourer and such a capable 4X4 off-road vehicle. Moving on to towing, I must admit though, for our around Aus Trip we did tow a off ground homemade camper, purely for the convenience of base camping and being off the ground in croc country (the kids sole request). Within the camper base we had 145 litres of water, 65 drinking, 80 washing bathing etc. then 5 X 20 litre jerry cans (100 litres) of fuel up front, so it made remote base camping very practical. A double and king size bed base folded out either side, double for Mum & me, king for 3 adult sized kids. That's our story, family can holiday out of a 5 seat wagon, we did it for years.

Love the video, how's the 270 degree awning go with the boot the way it is, does it touch? Only ask as I cook out the back of mine and don't want to duck my head all the time ;-)

Not about to contest your knowledge of SA vehicle laws, but is he in S.A. ? From what I see it's got Vic. Rego. A vehicle operated on Australian road network only has to comply with registration requirements of it home state. So, if I go into SA with totally compliant NSW registered vehicle it's legal to operate in SA. Should I come across a narky constable plod, I just accept whatever infringement/s he/she wants to incumbent me with, go on my merry way, rtn to NSW and then contest it/them. From my understanding one will be cleared of infringement/s. The alternative to that is you do as I did, have your vehicle federally compliant, (remanufactured vehicle) prior to its first rego, retain it as initially complied and we can travel in any state of Australia legally.

I hope your Isuzu will not have a DPF problem after 45k like mine did. Isuzu warranty seems a fiction in my case, they look for excuses. 😐

Were you driving your Isuzu regularly on the highway. These new diesel engines need a solid 1 hour run on the highway every week. I drive mine atleast 3 times a week for 6 hours. No DPF issues, No soot, no clogs.

Lost me when you didn't include a winch. You'll go to the trouble of attaching some recovery points for others to pull the vehicle out of trouble, but can't be bothered including a means of doing it yourself.

Colour match bumpers of modern 4wds look kinda ugly, especially with brighter colours like white and silver. Off road animal bumper(front) with no hoff is one I, would never fit to my Toyota and Suzuki even for free.

God loves you all, so so much, so much so that he sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. If you repent of your sins and ask God for forgiveness and try not to sin, and always be honest and confess your sins you shall enter the gates of heaven yet without commitment you shall go down to hell!! Hell is the worst place, it lasts forever and ever and ever Amen!

Yeah, but we use our time wisely, developing 4X4 vehicles, built them up and headed bush to take in all the good God created, what the hell are you doing here? Go preach elsewhere or better still, let me be your saviour, convert to a 4X4 and live your life. Once you done living life you go go wherever God deems you belong. Amen to that.
