Ive got the 15.5 and never had a problem (just did 100K) but I suspect ill need a carbon clean soon. If you made an in depth carbon cleaning video for the MUX or DMAX 4JJ1 (intake manifold / EGR ect) that would get some serious views, no one has done a decent one yet. Use this comment as a show of hands and maybe someone will make it?

I also have the 2018 MUX LS-T model and love it. since owning it for a year now I have made some upgrades, snorkel, bigger falken AT3 tyres, 2 inch lift, roof racks and about to put on southern cross rock sliders. Lucky enough have had no issue with the vehicle put probably dont 4WD as often as you do. @@LowRangeNick thanks for the reply mate. If I go lightbar, I will likely need another up top to match the output right?? In regards to the chalky look of the plastic, assuming a replacement will suffer the same fate - check out Maxima SC1 Clear Coat. Its a spray that I used for my motocross bikes to keep the plastic looking new. I applied some to my trim last night and it looks brand new again. I will see how I go and how long its lasts, but it did wonders for my mx bike. Its worth trying though as a can doesn't run too much. Thanks for a good report Nick - I actually drive a 2010 Hilux auto diesel and it has been faultless with 281000 ks now - your Isuzu is a good vehicle for your family/offroad needs and great to see the ‘little ones’ well protected - it appears Isuzu has some quality work to address for the next models before you can be confident of its build which can happen with new gen/model versions - I think that asking for over $50k now you would expect Isuzu has sorted out the issues as I suspect they’ve sourcing some cheaper components from China like the windscreen wiper arms - John in SA
@Herosade
@Herosade Жыл бұрын
Hi John from SA. I hope you realise china is light years ahead of Australia, for your concern about the cheaper parts is because the manufacturer decided to cut cost or just sourcing a alternative. You can't blame everything on china for things that don't work out. I've been working in Australian manufacturing for almost 20 years, and China continues to outperform us both in quality and in output, and they are alot cheaper. Of course of you decide to source a $1000 part with a $200 then really you're no longer comparing apples with apples, but this a companies choice, not because it came out of China. Thank you.

@@Herosade agreed about Australian poor quality car manufacturing which is why it disappeared here with Ford and GM (Holden) - I never mentioned Australia because most Australian delivered utes are built in Thailand - the rest come from Argentina, Spain, China and the US-built rubbish RAM and GMC redneck trucks - I would still not buy a vehicle from China.

Another great video Nick, cheers! I have the 2018 D-Max and have had a great run for the 60,000k so far. Fitted an alloy bar for the weight saving on stock suspension. Running Wildpeak AT3 265/65/17 on the stock alloy rims and they work a treat. We do more dirt road than hard offroad work, but the package is great.

E locked just has 2 electrical wires running to the back diff, easy to maintain and repair if for some reason an issue occurs. Air lockers have compressed air line running from engine bay compressor into the back diff, the seals leak, diff oil can pump into the air compressor and if an air line busts its a pain to repair and find leaks.

They do come in red! I don't know if I'd own a completely red car but I am actually a big fan of the Blue. I chose silver because its easy to keep clean, hides the scratches and doesn't fade.

@@LowRangeNick Not true, one should not expect any issues for the first 3 years ? Prior to my MU-X I had a new Mitsubishi Outlander with 140,000 trouble free kilometres, stock standard. Then a Great Wall X-240 stock standard that did 165,000 kilometres on mostly outback roads with no real problems. Then a new Mistsubishi Challenger stock standard for 135,000 kilometres towing an 18ft caravan, with zero issues over 5 yrs,. Do you think the catch can contributes to the turbo failures? Why do you remove it before getting turbo replaced?
@LowRangeNick
@LowRangeNick 2 жыл бұрын
Because it is right in the way of the turbo being removed and I don't want the idiots at isuzu touching it. They have already left my intake pipe off to the snorkel, broken all the clips on the airbox and left the vaccum line of the airbox during the turbo replacements. I dont trust them.
