You seek out what we all want, and you're real time assembly is honest. Don't feel bad with starting high with the awning. You saw the problem and learned. A true life skill. Keep those vids comin' we're hungry for em'.

Doug, please come back. I think 4x4TV would be a great web based show. Record it and they will come.

I'm honored but even though I prefer 4x4 stuff to ATV and UTV things, it just doesn't pay the bills like they do. For some reason 4x4TV people just don't seem to view these that much nor click on the ads as often. Go figure.

great vid and great product! I have a discovery 2 with 1 inch tubing roof rack would it be possible to mount this awning on something like this?
@4x4TVTV
@4x4TVTV 8 жыл бұрын
+THEBLADESLINGER It could be mounted to the flat steel between the tubing or you can put some flat pieces on the backside of the tubing to bolt the awning too. It can work! You can also email me a pic to DougMeyer@4x4TV.TV

Haven't seen much on the ARB awning's ability to withstand the speed of the freeway. Would you know what kind of speeds you put it through?

I really don't travel at long distances at much over 70mph but my only issues have just been the added wind noise of the rack and awning.

No issues at all. Been running them for years

I just got done driving around 70-80 mph on a ~500 mi road trip. I noticed them bouncing a bit as the shadow casted itself on my dash. I checked the manual and I'm just under the requirement of total unsupported bar length of I think 27 inches. Has me worrying a bit, but no damage done. They're pretty darn tuff . . . Did any of you guys notice them bouncing a bit as you drove?

Just discovered you and are enjoying your videos. Can mosquitos enter the tent through the gap between the awning and the wall above the door?
@4x4TVTV
@4x4TVTV 9 жыл бұрын
Kotzfunkel No. There is a ceiling on the tent so you actually have two roofs! The only place that would be questionable is if you leave the door open between the tent and the car but then I suppose you wouldn't do that if there were bugs out ;-)

+4x4TV And I'm guessing that with that wonderful two roof system, as there's an air gap, it should offer pretty good protection against UV and keep things cooler in the room. Would that be right do you think?
@4x4TVTV

+Bill Blinky Indeed the dual panels with a bit of air in between will work like insulation.

+Elvis Rancel There are two different sizes, the 2000 and the 2500. Here is a link to the awning page on ARB-USA store.arbusa.com/ARB-Awnings-Accessories-C54.aspx

what if you decide to go somewhere for a drive ? you would need to tear it all down. why not just bring a tent or canopy ?

do the awning walls come with a floor or is it just the walls.
@4x4TVTV
@4x4TVTV 8 жыл бұрын
Yes, walls, floor, and even a ceiling that hangs under the awning.

Not sure I'd even want it up in wind but then that all depends on what your definition of wind is ;-)

The soft alum awning polls bend asap and the whole thing is junk. simple yet catastrophic design fault.
