QJ hand: turn bet was too small IMO. That's why he called. I was expecting you to bet around $800. He was getting around 3.3:1 and his call is pretty standard.

Never 4-bet shove as a bluff in position with KhQh! In general, you want to be polarized when 3 & 4-bet bluffing in position b/c you may be surrendering your positional advantage by doing so. KQs and AQs are rarely used as bluffs and often your first best calling hands to play against 3 & 4-bets, whether IP or OOP.
@mattpitstick68848 ай бұрын
On the first hand, you should be opening tighter since you are raising over two limpers. And the BB will be more incentivized to call with some hands he would usually 3b to play a pot with the limpers. So his 3b range here should actually be fairly strong and not just usual BU vs BB.
@nathanmills35398 ай бұрын
I am not a fan of the KQ jam pre. Seems like a huge punt to not have an ace in this spot and our hand is just so good to call in position.
@jacobm34618 ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Especially being in position. If you're not comfortable calling KQs IP to that 3-bet, what hands are you flatting except AK or AQ or TT/JJ?
@eldad44468 ай бұрын
Your first hand AhQh is a pure 3b from any GTO solver vs BB raise. Not sure why you would just call there. KQo is a pure call on BTN vs BB 3b and KQs is clearly not a 4b all in - in fact KQs 4bets only 10% of the time and it does so around 27bb on a 200bb stack, but once he goes $500 i'm for sure not 4b because that is a gigantic 3b size of 20bb - i'm just calling . Mistakes like that can really destroy your winrate and keep you in a downswing.

11:30 It's a lose/lose action. Wasting money, and/or time. No way weaker hand hand would've called, nor stronger hand would've folded.

You’re a nit or punter. There were river bets you could’ve jammed and gotten away with against their marginal hands. Why only jam when you think you got the best hand? Bad…

What do you mean praying and hoping 500 to win a $2000 pot if he calls you gotta be good 25% of the time he got six over cards and four cards to the nuts it’s about 20%. He’s getting right about the right amount of odds damn near, and he’s beat all of your bluff which he had dominated

14:26 It is a sick cooler. (they all are!). Wonder what your opponent could've done to avoid getting into?? If he had two top pairs or one top pair does not change anything; b/c he is still losing to the same hand that he was losing before. Now: (his) opponent (KK, you!) is betting river. Large! Polar? yes. Bluff? no. What value hand would've shoved?? Certainly not a top pair/top kicker. SO: there must be hand stronger than that. It DOES NOT matter which one, but it is stronger - therefore: FOLD! Easier said than done.

it might be interesting to wear a heart rate monitor. A big part of poker that no one seems to talk about is the adrenaline rush that comes from the big plays. Most people are not professionals, they are essentially paying for that feeling when they play, not so much the opportunity to win money.

first hand you turn a double gutter, definitely bigger size if betting turn and you fold out hands like AK, next hand raising that board is just not gonna go well, so many cards that make things really difficult from OOp in a bigger pot, a J T 9 7 6 5 4 or heart, KQs hand very clear call IP, only worse hands are folding to jam and pretty much all better hands are calling and then you double through aces on the run out, just not good sizing again in QJo hand, flop bet should be significantly smaller then you can overbet or geometric bet according to stack size on brick turns and fold out stronger hands. Idk man, maybe time to stop complaining about run bad and work on your game, especially for a game like this that seems to be mainly HU pots where theoretical play will actually come in handy opposed to games where every pot is 4-5 ways. GL

Qj. That just shows the player honestly didn’t respect you. He saw you jammed KQ into and aces. And it’s funny the theory says raising out of the blinds is supposed to be weak and wider. I’d think people who will always be out of position raising means strength. Oh well.

Context is everything. It's not like he called 5-bet jammed KQ. He open raised the button which looks like a steal and gets reraised by the blob blind which looks like a resteal. In that context the all-in was an acceptable counter measure. How often often are you going to run into AA?

On the board of 83797, when you have 83 and get counterfeited, you’re playing the river wrong. You’re supposed to bomb the river with an over-pot bet since you block a lot of full houses. You lost because you didn’t play it optimally; not because of bad luck.

That's total nonsense. A downswing is a statistical guarantee if you play poker regularly. You are saying you never had your aces cracked because you are such a great player? Gtfo You even disprove your own point, if you concede he was lucky previously, you don't realise the opposite exists as well? Being unlucky? Getting the worse side of the variance. Learn some math bro

You know another great way to lower the variance? PLAY TIGHTER RANGES! I hear you justifying a lot of bad plays pre flop that are causing issues post flop with reverse implied odds. I've seen you make some horrendous plays the past few videos bro. I'm saying this because I want to see you make money. You're not giving your opponents enough credit! Even if it's your usual game, not every session will be the same! Take a step back, work with a coach and do some solver work. If not, you're gonna keep punting your bank roll and that new car won't feel very good anymore. Trying to out play people all the time, even if you're manufacturing an image can lead to trouble long term if you're lacking self control. I'd say lately, you have been. Tighten it up, control the variance, get your results up, THEN loosen up a bit. You can balance over longer periods of time not just session to session! Balance is typically overrated anyway. Exploitative is maximal and you're the one being exploited! Good luck.
