The bottom front loops will also fit the LV6 which isn’t out yet. It can be worn as a fanny pack or carried with a strap. It’ll be a small add on to the LV 18 or a stand alone small edc.
@GeorgeDEFINED5 жыл бұрын
Okay Yehtee Jeep, I didn't know that. I was hoping they had one thier inventive pouches to go there and you just confirmed it. 👍

Another sweet option to this pack it that you can attach the 5.11 LV6 to the Botton adding additional storage. Then if you are somewhere and just need a smaller pack you can detach it and carry just the LV6. The only downside is that it is a little difficult to attach, but it works great once attached. That is how I run my LV18. It is a great pack and I keep coming back to it after trying other packs. Thanks for your great reviews!

Great review. I’ve been rocking the COVRT18 for the last 3 or 4 years. It’s been with me through 2 deployments, a shipyard period. That said, I’ve been waiting for a pack like the LV18 to come out. The Vert-X EDC Gamut left me disappointed but this new pack seems like a nice improvement on the COVRT18.
@GeorgeDEFINED5 жыл бұрын
Hey Myrthmaker, I tried all the Vertx's backpacks out. They look cool and I know they are big on KZbin but when you get them in reality there problems. They just need to change a few things. I'm glad to hear that you have had luck with 5.11 Thanks for your service man.. See ya ✌🏾

Glad I came across these comments, I might be in the market for a bag of this kind. What issues did you guys have with the VertX, if you don't mind me asking?
@myrthmaker5 жыл бұрын
Survivor Gluke : First, the main compartment is only around 4” deep and fills up very fast. The hydration compartment is the laptop sleeve which is in the main compartment. There are not any drain grommets. I hate packs that put hydration in the main compartment. If anything happens to the bladder, your stuff is wet. The water bottle pockets will only accommodate 3” bottles and even those are a tight fit. I purchased 27 oz & 20oz insulated Klean Kanteen bottles just for this pack. I much prefer 1l Nalgene bottles but they will not fit in the bottle pockets. Those pockets are almost unusable if you have anything in in the side admin compartments.
@wi1dwater7425 жыл бұрын
@@myrthmaker Thanks for the info. One thing I liked about the Vertx bags was the large rubber zipper handle on the ccw compartment. The 5.11 LV 18's (which I've purchased since my original comment) ccw zipper handles were far too small to grab under stress. I simply sewed a strip of nylon to it and fixed that problem. Plus the nylon doesn't stand out from the rest of the bag, unlike the big rubber thing on the Vertx bags. And I like that I can clip my own kydex holster into the ccw compartment. So far all the pouches inside the bag have been solid, I'm really liking it. I've found I can comfortably store 1 full change of clothes in the main compartment and squeeze 2 in. The adjustable water bottle pouches are really handy too, they adjust to fit most of my different water bottles/Yeti. I haven't put the bag through too much heavy use yet, mostly just school and short overnight trips.

I think this pack was fairly well thought out for EDC, but not Very well thought out. It’s not very rugged, even though the material they used is better than some of their other bags. The grab handle is weak, not reinforced, I can see that ripping off if you regularly have this packed with 15-18 lbs (bug out bag). Same with the shoulder straps. Not nearly beefed enough IMO. Do yourself a favor and get the Covert 18
@GeorgeDEFINED5 жыл бұрын
Hey Johnny V, I like the style of the LV18. I wish it was built better. The Covert 18 maybe a better built bag but I'm not a fan of the style. I think 5.11 was going for a urban light duty day pack. Thanks for the comment. See ya Peace
@MochiMoose5 жыл бұрын
I agree on the style of the LV18. Wayyy better looking pack with similar features. It is unfortunate it’s not better built, not that this is poorly built. I really hope they roll out with a gen II with reinforcing where it counts, some hook and loop compatibility in the main compartment for organization would be nice too, Velcro dividers and such. This is Perfect for EDC though. Great video man, I’m subscribing!
@yaddi34345 жыл бұрын
I disagree with your comment. The 840 D nylon isn’t as heavy as 1050D but all of the seams are double and triple stitched on these bags. The LV18 is very rugged and will last for years. What tells me you don’t know what you’re talking about is that you think the covert 18 is better built. Seriously? The covert 18 is 500D nylon, the yoke is weak and the top carry handle is off balanced and is known to tear. It also looks like a big kids school bag. The water bottle pouches are a joke compared to the LV18 where they are full nylon WITH conch straps. Come on man do you even use these bags? I have all of them.
@MochiMoose5 жыл бұрын
Matt T I don’t have all of them, but I have a 5.11 store literally one block from my place. I was thinking about getting one until I saw how the carry handle wasn’t very well sewn into it. Yes, the covert is 500D, which means it is more resistant to abrasion and it’s a lighter weight fabric even if it’s less resistant to tears. I have not had the experience of the covert 18 handle being off balance nor heard of anyone’s tearing off, as it is better built into the pack than the LV18 IMO. Yes, it does kind of look like a school kids bag, which is why I like the aesthetic of the LV18 over the Covert 18. I was looking for another pack to fill a similar but different role than my covert 18. Honestly, they’re both made from 5.11. If I had any issues, I literally walk down the street and I’d get mine replaced in a heartbeat, no questions asked. Though for my next pack, I think I’m going to go with an Eberlestock.
@yaddi34345 жыл бұрын
Liked and subscribed. I’ve got the LV18 in nightwatch color and it’s my favorite bag so far of all the 5.11 bags for edc. You know the two 5.11 badge tabs are tuckable right? The one on the outer pocket and also the one on the shoulder strap. There is a slot you can tuck it in for even more non descript covert carry. My sunglasses have stayed put in the pouch so far and I throw my bag around. Compared to the rush series, and the AMP series, this bag is the best in my opinion. I don’t care for the LV10 as it just isn’t what I hoped for. The Moab 10 fits the bill better in the sling pack for me. Nice review overall.
