5/2/22 Itchy persimmon update: exciting discovery: flower buds or fruit buds???

Congratulations! I too just got flowers on my persimmon this year. However, we must not get too excited, these guys are notorious for dropping fruit. 🤞🤞🤞 Can’t wait for your updates.

That’s great yours has flowers. I know right last year I got so excited about baby persimmons and then they dropped :)z I hope you have a lot of persimmons this year.

This is what ours looks like this year! Lots of little budding fruits like that - first time since we planted 3 years ago. But I think they're all going to drop, some are starting to brown/shrivel a bit. But it's never flowered yet. Aren't they supposed to flower first before fruit? This thing is fruiting but never had any flowers.

It depends on how old the tree is when you plant it, three out of my four trees fruited the first year. I would not worry though, because the tree needs to be strong when they start fruiting, you will need to stake the branches to prevent them from breaking.
