you should always run at least 12 inches of pipe behind any muffler to get the proper sound out of it.

I just did this for the heck of it before going to the muffler shop and getting a Super 10 installed. I'd never run it like this, the drone in the cab was unbearable.

Actually, cherrybomb packs are about as close as you can get before you are strait piped,if you look close at the center tube,one side is smooth pipe,the other is perforated, so very little sound control.
