Hello evre I love your guides, your guides are super clearly. but I have to ask if I got 5 blood tap charges and killing machine is up should I free the obliterate for killing machine or to use hollowing blast for runic power to use frost strike for killing machine?. and if I got 1 569 2h weapon and 1 553 1h weapon and 1 540 should I use the 1h weapons or to w8 for one more 553 1h weapon? any ways Thanks very much for the Frost dk guide :)

Im really trying to mimic what your doing but i dont seem to be doing it right. I try and spam HB until out of runes or im RP capped and try to keep one UH rune up and use PL when i have nothing left to do but i dont seem to get that many KM procs to use FS. I dunno i guess practice makes perfect. ill start recording some logs i guess and try n compare them to see what i might be doing wrong.

You should still make a Demonology guide, I would love to see your opinion on it with this patch. I've seen some Warlocks that are highly geared pulling amazing numbers in Demo.

Hi! I have a frost dk with ilvl 584, duel wild and have over 92% mastery and almost 59k attack Power, i am capt ofc in hit and exp. But i fail badly at doing great dps, around 285-325k dps now. I should easy doing over or around 400k dps, but i dont know what i am doing wrong. So if anyone know or Think you know what i am doing wrong plz tell me. Ty!

Hi, I'm in a heroic progression guild and I'm having some trouble keeping up in dps. I sit in between 270K and 230K with 574 ilvl and 2 heroic warforged weapons. I've been following this guide to the t for the past month or so and cant seem to get consistent 350k+ dps pulls. My gear is on par with my friend who plays a ret pally and he can pull upwards of 370k every fight so I'm curious on any specific ways to improve my numbers. (I am currently dual wielding using the master simple playstyle)

So, correct me here if I'm wrong. For dual wielding DKs, with the exception of using plague strike to keep the DoT on the target and using cooldowns. You're essentially just using Howling Blast and Frost Strike, and that's supposed to put out the most dps? That sounds horribly boring! I hope they fix that in WoD so that playing Frost isn't so easy. One idea would be to make it so Obliterate is more viable for dual wielding and tweak the damage output accordingly so that we actually have something new to hit.

In WoD, DKs will get a perk while levelling 90-100 that makes it so the howling blast/icy touch you get from Rime will have it's damage increased by 20%. This will make Obliterate useful for dual wield at the start of the expansion at least. We will have to see how much mastery can be obtained throughout WoD to see if we will go back to Mastersimple, but blizzard have said they don't want that happening again so this might not happen.

FrantikTikTok Thanks for the response :) I have downloaded your UI and im using it as we speak its by far the best UI i have tried so far. i just normally gave up after downloading a new UI but this one i have configured well but there a 1 or 2 things i know im doing wrong with the UI but just can't put my finger on it. the UI setup video would be very helpful but no rush if you are busy with other stuff i will eventually find out how to configure everything :)

Great guide, but I have one question about the DW rotations. Soul reaper and howling blast both cost a frost rune so how can soul reaper be a dps increase in the MasterFrost rotation and a dps loss in the MasterSimple rotation? surely if howling blast does do more damage, then Soul Reaper wouldn't be worth using in either rotation. I'm confused! :-/

The point of MasterSimple is removing as many buttons as possible with minimal impact to dps. The DPS difference between howling blast and soul reaper is so small that it is almost unnoticeable if you remove soul reaper from your bars. At a certain gear level (almost full BiS) it actually becomes a dps loss to use soul reaper OR obliterate and the MasterSimple priority becomes the highest dps priority order to use.

Should you use Raise Dead with your Pillar of frost? Or should you only use it for healing with Death Pact?. Also, i think i saw Mendenbarr talking about this some time ago. #showtooltip Frost Strike /cast Blood Tap /cast Blood Tap /cast Frost Strike Does this work? Or is there too much dps loss rather than doing it manually?

Macro-ing Blood Tap in with Frost Strike is a DPS loss, yes, but it's acceptable if you aren't comfortable with using it manually. You can find the macros on the written guide on evrelia.com

fituafi You should be, but that's an outdated meta now. Most DKs, especially those raiding at the higher end of things, have the Galakras CDR trinket. You want to have pillar up as much as you can. Never save Pillar because raise dead is available in 20 seconds etc... On the pull I use them together but with the Heroic WF Gala trink, Pillar is on a 39 second CD for me. I use it as it comes up throughout the entire fight.

Harry Winterbourne With the galakras trinket, pillar is on a 40s cool down roughly. That means every other pillar will be up for raise dead. Raise dead lasts for 1 minute anyway which means that as long as you pop pillar during raise dead and at least 20s on your ghoul left, your ghoul will receive full benefit. If you are using them on cooldown like you should be its not an issue.

You use Plague Strike on the unholy runes. it won't make them death runes and they will just recharge back as unholy runes, but this is last on your priority and should only be done if you have absolutely nothing else to do.

How do you keep your Runic Power up so much? In PvP I'm always out and have those 2-3 second moments where I have to just auto attack because I can't use my frost strike or Obliterate or howling blast.

Proper AMS-usage and making sure you don't cap/waste any runes and runic power helps keep the rotation moving.

Short answer: No. Long answer: Sometimes. At lower gear levels using soul reaper is a very minor DPS gain. As you gain more gear and more mastery, howling blast will eventually out-damage soul reaper. The hassle and added complexity that would be involved in checking your mastery/AP levels during a fight to determine that soul reaper would be a gain at this moment is not necessary and simply using howling blast instead of soul reaper lets you forget about this and focus on more important things like your resources.

Hey why don't you use pestilence for AOE? And it looks like you have a lot of downtime on your single target. Is that true or do you hit something on every global? I'm trying more or less to watch your runes and your RP to get a handle on how you do what. I'm not very good with my dk sadly. But I want to be. He's a blast when played correctly and can obviously top charts haha

Unless the adds are up for the full duration of the blood plague that you apply, pestilence isn't worth it. For most fights this probably won't happen. As dual wield it's much easier to just use the rune on HB and then to spice things up you could tab to another target and Plague Strike onto that instead of onto your main target. That would net you a dps increase rather than using Pestilence (assuming the conditions above weren't met). Also, I have no downtime unless I can't AMS soak for a good while. This is quite rare however so for the majority of fights I am fully gcd-capped and have something to do on every gcd.

If you follow MasterSimple, which is recommended then you don't use Obliterate At higher mastery levels, even without MasterSimple, HB will do more damage than Obliterate so it's better off to just completely ignore Obliterate.
