5.4L Triton engine ticking noise - roller arms replaced without camshaft removal

Today I show you what a bad roller arm sounds like on a 5.4L 3V triton engine. And I show you how to repair it without removing the camshaft or messing with timing.

Good fix - one thing though, the oil pressure gauge is just a glorified dummy light. It's either on or off, no real measuring of oil pressure going on. Weird that Ford did it that way, but they did.

I have this noise on cold starts on my 97 5.4 f150 175k. Sounds like its coming from the same side and takes a few mins to go away. I'm going to replace the lifters and upgrade the rockers to melling. I will try remember to let you know if it is the same cylinder. My back is going to hate me for this.

I've replaced cam phasers on this truck/engine combo. Even just the valve cover being such a chore is a huge turn-off from this platform

Isnt that valve spring speciality tool the best...😊 Remove the pcm and bracket to make passenger valve cover removal a breeze.
