I would only run a round that's designed to tumble in this load. That's what it was designed to do; expansion or fragmentation in a round this small doesn't really make sense.

Shasta that's not even legit ballistic gel, it would be even less penetration, or if it hit bone those fragments are probably getting stopped albiet maybe cracking it.

@@Jack-M1113 ​ Buffman's sample is 200 (pistol) to over 300 (rifle) fps slower than the lots I tested. But in actual meat, these rounds will blow a 2.5 - 3" wide gaping hole out to that ~5" depth where you see the petals stop. They don't just make small individual small holes. They make one big one. Then the .224 base makes a hole out to about 15-18" in gel or meat. And they will shatter bone (not just crack it) if in the first 6" of penetration, even though yes, they will deflect or maybe stop & just crack it if it's out past 8-10 " when it hits bone. Just like what happens with any other bullet. I haven't shot these into pork yet, because I already know what it's going to do...after testing the 30 gr Raptor & 32 gr Controlled Chaos into gel, and then into meat. The synthetic gel is plenty legit other than if a bullet doesn't open in clear gel, it might in organic or tissue. People that poo-poo it because they hear other people say it, simply are doing that - repeating what they've heard, but not actually tested it. People that prefer their slow/heavy bullets can have those and I keep a few in each magazine. But for 1st shots and getting a needed stop - I'll take fast & fracturing, now that I've seen what I've seen.

@@Watchdog_McCoy_5.7x28 Both are Loaded hotter than Ss197sr and are safe for most all 5.7 guns except the P50. IMO take the Vmax. It feeds better in guns and has more expansion/penetetration.

Great video! I got a pile of these and love them. Its all I keep loaded up in my 5.7 mags. The only thing I would like to see is that they should increase the volociy a little to met the speeds of some of the other hot ammo.

It's possible they have, or it's also possible because i tested when it was 45-60F that some extra velocity could be had in 75-80F weather.

Why do some people feel like 5.7x28 should be getting over 2000fos from a handgun with a 40gr bullet?

Because they seem to reference various miss-information of the years past. 1900-1950 is about the limit for a 40gr loading in pistols.

My limited experience tells me different I can hit 2000fps with a 5.8” rock and I’m not getting pressure signs with cci 400 primers if I go much higher I see pressures with the standard small rifle primers I have just started experimenting with small rifle magnum primers and seem to be able to get 2200 safely With both hs-6 and longshot

Because Elite Ammunition Pro1 and Pro3 rounds hit 2k from the pistol.

@@shooter.2578 5.2" Rock? I've seen some older data showing about 6.7gr of LS getting about 2000 fps in the 4.75". The issue for large scale manufacturers becomes that some of these loads are OK for the pistols with the stronger actions, but not other guns and may go BOOM BOOM (Cough P50..)

@@BuffRANGE yes 5.2” not sure why I was thinking 5.8 Getting 2000fps with 5.6 gr of longshot out of the threaded rock when you say 1950fps is the top safely it had me worried I was about to unexpectedly lose an appendage I suppose they have to neuter all the 5.7 just so the p50 doesn’t perform a rapid self disassembly

Didn't get to finish the premier and had to pause for a call...but was saying; These velocities are WAY below the 3 LOTs I've bought... Avgs with the LC: July 2022 - 2507 Mar 2023 - 2613 Apr 2023 - 2592 Your LC Avg: was 2275. That's a ton! 225 - 325 fps less.

@@ShastaBeandon’t forget you appear to be shooting in a lot warmer temp and possibly at a higher elevation. Regardless VO is more than welcome to send more but evaluation of the rounds capabilities seem consistent through velocities.
