The great thing about the S&W offering is that the whole suppressor weight consideration is non-factor due to the outer barrel portion being stationary.

Good Lord, assuming that the microphone on the camera isn't auto ranging, The suppressed shots are around the same level as a speaking voice? I've been wanting to try the subsonic out of my short PS90, but I don't have a suppressor or any plans to get one in the near future. Even unsuppressed, it sounds considerably quieter than what I would have expected.

If you load subsonic rounds yourself, Speer has a 70gr semi point, flat base style bullet that would be the best lead core bullet for loading subs.
@BuffRANGE
@BuffRANGE Жыл бұрын
That sounds very long for 1:9 twist at subsonic
@calangel
@calangel Жыл бұрын
@@BuffRANGE it's not, it's 0.808" in length. It's a pill shaped bullet with a flat base, so it has a higher weigh to length ratio than boat tails do. Easier to stabilize than the bullet you feature.
@BuffRANGE
@BuffRANGE Жыл бұрын
@@calangel Ohh, That might be very interesting !
@calangel
@calangel Жыл бұрын
@@BuffRANGE matter of fact, the 70gr semi point is more stable at subsonic speeds from a 1:9" twist than the 55gr FMJ-BT is. The calculators will say 1.77 vs 1.73 S.G. in favor of the 55gr, but that's because the formula doesn't account for a flat base which makes the actual stability higher.

@@BuffRANGE 1. First rount failure to extract on a full mag across a range of ammos (thought maybe it was just mag break in but have stored them loaded for two weeks and am now 400 or so rounds in and still the same issues). AE, 195, 197, Fiocchi. Both supressed and unsupressed. 2. Supressed with both a Dead air mask and a Rugged Oculus I will get FTFs randomly in supers that will cause damage to the bullet seating in the neck rendering the round "unusable". This occurs roughly once a mag. 3. Obviously as I was informed from your previous posts I am not overly surprised the Fiocchi subs do not cycle with either can as they are both a bit over the 6oz mark, but I will admit to being disapointed. This is on a threaded optics ready Rock aquired about a month ago. Holosun 507k on top. Was quite suprised as most of the online reviews are all quite positive /shrug But its a Gen 1 PSA product so not overly suprised. I was looking for more info before going back to them on it but I expect it will likely be made right.

I don't know about this bullet, but some subsonic 5.7 is capable of penetrating IIIA. So that's another potential reason to use subsonic 5.7, instead of .22lr, in addition to reliability and ballistics. Also, if you have a sealed 5.56 suppressor, you probably shouldn't shoot dirty .22lr through it, but 5.7 is okay.
