I would've liked FVV to be around to help mentor this kid for a few years. But yeah, I like the signing. Obviously being 5'8" has huge disadvantages, especially in today's game, but both Lowry and FVV proved to be stud defenders by attacking the dribble. You get the ball to shoulder height, and neither Lowry nor FVV could do much. But you put that ball on the floor even once and you were in trouble. Hopefully Nowell can play like that, too. Bigs and wings will try to get swtiches onto him and he'll need to use that quickness to attack the first dribble, otherwise he's toast. But I love his attitude and I definitely rooting for him.

FVV is a horrible mentor. Would be great if we can get Lowry back on the squad for the veteran minimum to mentor Scottie, Markquis and Dalano. Man, I absolutely love these three guys.

I don't share the common concern that defence will be Nowell's liability, certainly not with his effort and game IQ. Mind you, Isaiah Thomas' defensive rating as a Celtic was comparable to many 6'3 offensive stars, which us clearly accepted. I'm rooting for this man.
