Awesome tips! I have a question though: Since the M1S has a speaker and can play chimes with Aqara doorbell devices, can it also play chimes with other non-Aqara smart doorbells thats connected to Homekit?
@AdamsTechLife Жыл бұрын
Not that i know of, the aqara chime sounds aren't exposed to HomeKit and thus couldn't be used with other non aqara doorbells. You can create your own sound though but can't use the sounds from the aqara app. Thanks for watching! 😊

Thanks for the ideas! My question is how do you apply an automation to several like sensors? Example: I have 5 Aqara leak detectors and want flashing lights if any of them detect a leak. Can that be done or do you have to set up an automation for each and every one individually? Also I noticed a change. Most sensors not longer appear in the add automations/scenes. However you can find a "add automation" option in the sensors setting screen. Guessing this was a change due to the latest HomeKit version. Not sure I like how they display and treat sensors this way. Especially that "water" icon at the top!

Hello, thanks for your comment. I do believe you'd have to create multiple automations for the sensors, especially for home app automations. The sensor icon change in the home app is strange. Thanks for watching! 😊

Does the leak sensor have features exposed to Alexa? I’m not sure about this. Like if you go to the Alexa routines, then smart home, then see if the sensor is there. If not, then it may not be supported. If it is, you should be able to create an automation from there. Thanks for watching! 😊

Exit Delay: I found that rather than having to set this at all in Aqara app, it is convenient to use the geofencing option "when the last person leaves home" in Homekit to set my Aqara alarm system to Away mode. However, I chose not to do this for the Home or Off mode as that might mean that, if I were to come home when the alarm is going off because of intrusion, it would turn the alarm off as I arrived when in fact, I would prefer it to remain on until I cleared the issue and shut it off.

@AdamsTechLife Жыл бұрын
I have a smart plug on the fan that turns the fan on/off if that's what you're asking
@peterhodur6235 Жыл бұрын
@@AdamsTechLife nope. I mean the fan cools you when you are present, by moving the air around your body, thus evaporating the sweat. If it’s turned on/off without your presence, it won’t cool the air, it will just move it around. An air conditioning unit does the job.

One suggestion I would make is to put all of your devices that you are going to control in an Automation into a Scene. That way if you need to make a change, you only have to change the scene and not try and remember every Automation that has a particular device that you want to control. In addition, if you want to add something to your automation, you only have to update the scene. IMHO, it is a much cleaner and easier way to control your home automations, especially when you have a lot of them.
@AdamsTechLife3 жыл бұрын
That is a good idea. Only issue is being overloaded with having too many scenes and then having to remember which does what but that goes with having too many devices as well 🤣 🤷🏼♂️ I’ve started doing that tho
