Hi Rotem, I just bought an electric guitar a few days ago. Even though I don't really understand much of what you are speaking about, your passion for music is palpable and infectious! I hope to be able to understand this stuff some day so I can truly appreciate the videos! Thank you!

Thanks for the video, Rotem. I like the way you move the chord voices to create a melody, it's very cool. Trying to answer the question, in Bb the II-V leading to the vi would be A∅ - D7alt - Gm, I guess.

Bb 2,5,1 to the 6th degree. Amin7b5, D7(b9), Gminor7> I hope this is correct. Love the content Rotem, awesome work. All the best
@punkntded2 жыл бұрын
why is it D7(b9)? If i see diatonic chords in Bb major, 6th is G min7, 7th is A min7 b5, 3rd is D min7. so a 2 5 1 according to these chords should be D min7, Amin7 bt, then G min7
@garethjenkins44572 жыл бұрын
@@punkntded You need to think about the chord numbers in relation to the chord you're targeting. For this instance, Gmin7. Your 2 is A half diminished, your 5 of G is D Dominant 7 (b9 leading tone for voice leading) and your 1 is Gmin. Hope this helps.
@punkntded2 жыл бұрын
@@garethjenkins4457 how is this related to Bb major then? To me this is just 251 in G minor scale. Since In Bb major there is no D7 I'm confused
@garethjenkins44572 жыл бұрын
@@punkntded You could relate it to Bb Major however it's easier to look at it from the perspective of Gminor and using that diatonic harmony. In Bb it would be 7min7b5, the 5/6 or a secondary dominant. So the 5th chord of Gminor (the 6th degree) and then 6 minor. That would be thinking as if it was related to Bb.

Great lesson. Do you use fixed solfège syllables in lieu of note names (c=do, d=re, e=mi)? I have a student from Argentina who uses that system, and its a trip some days. I came up with a moveable solfège that changed with each key.

C= do. d= Re E=Mi. F= FA. G=SOL. A= LA. B= Si

@@samcanales3160 Si in the system I learned is either G# or just though of as a raised 5th. Ti is what we used for B or the major 7th. Moveable Do is goofy like that, I guess. I love that there are many ways to communicate the same information, even within something like western music theory.

Then about a week ago for some reason Patreon disabled my account. I’ve emailed them everyday since trying to get them to fix the problem, no response. I’m at a loss.
