I've been doing a combination of these since the start of 2024 and this is probably been the most consistent I've been journaling in such a long time. For the month of March, I decided against a weekly spread and just went with a formatted rapid log. I track my wake up and bed time, what my workout is, and then 3 wins. I list a Physical win, a mental win, and a spiritual win. I like it because it teaches me to reflect on my day in different ways.

Mine has been like that for a minute. I'm working on changing that by doing a shorthand recap of the day. Then I'm going to try to expand later.

The great thing about journals is they remind you of what you've forgotten. The bad thing about journals is they remind you of what you've forgotten. 😂 Wonder why the study for the women stopped at 46?

I had been dealing with depression since last year and I have been getting better since then. Casually, and with the goal to try to control my own productivity to feel better, I found your explanation about the bujo method and how it didn't need to be extremly complicated or that I could try something inside it for three months and then just drop it if it didn't feel right. It didn't exactly help-help, but when I look back to the pages of the months I wasn't okay and compare them to where I am, I actually feel that I am getting better. I find myself always remembering you going up to your stairs to write down something in your bujo when I procrastine in mine because I feel blank and I end up writing 'do cleaning'. Little by little. I thank you for making videos about this topics, and I will try the last method! Thank you for your hardwork!

I am SO happy to have found your channel! I've seen a few of your videos now and will probably go back and binge some older ones. I love how you present material that, as you said, isn't anything new - but how it can be made new for the person who is just getting into the habit of journaling. I also really enjoy the nuggets of comedy you throw in as well, especially the excited mustache character lol. Thank you so much for what you do! I'm saving this video to come back to and take notes.

on the topic of "venting into the journal and not wanting to see this again in the future". you suggested using stickers. I used to do this, but coming back to it a few years later, my brain still knew exactly what was going on there lol. This now keeps me from touching my old journals, despite them having some good memories in them. But they also contain so much triggering content. so what I do now is: I got some very cheap, not precious little journals (like sort of in the style of travelers company inserts, only in a5 and dirtcheap). And I outsourced the ranting there. right after emptying my brain, I do a gratitude entry in the other journal (I keep one for mental health exercises). The strategy I do there is to write 10 things i am grateful for. after a few times doing the gratitude exercise the "easy"/obvious stuff was already written and you begin to look for less obvious things in life. thats just my 10 cents to add on your already rocking video. you are helping me with your content around goalsetting so much rn.

Literally you talked about people saying prompts come at the right time; this video came at the right time. I love putting my life into my bullet journal and all the wins, struggles, and highlights. I am creating my own epic poem. Before too long, I'm going to have to transfer to a new journal to finish out the year.

I know what you mean by a landfill being in a journal. My goal is to journal in such a way that I will find it meaningful years later. I reflect on strong feelings to process them. However my journal is more than processing strong emotion. My newest focus is using the broaden and build entries. Aka positive psychology..

Simie gosh dang man the countdown trick on the monthly timeline may have changed my life. I noticed I’d gotten significantly weaker from moving to a desk-job dominant project for a couple quarters. Used this to get 12 arm workouts done in April and I feel like I’m getting my strength back so quickly! This one is a freakin keeper

Morning pages never worked for me, cause when I just wake up all I can think is « I am so tired and I wish I could sleep more ». So instead I just make myself write a few sentences with the time I wake up (I’m an insomniac). As for journaling properly, the one that works the best for me : I jot bullet points right before bed and try to go through my day in my head. Journaling, memory keeping and also a memory exercise 😂. Also bullet points keep me from trying to write « pretty », nothing wrong with that but not in a journaling for mental health setting

Thanks, Simie. I can't tell you how much I agree with you, journaling has been life changing of me. I have SOS (shiny object syndrome) and have a hard time focusing and being organized. I was also diagnosed with dyslexia as a child and always had a hard time writing/reading. Anyway, I never thought I would be journaling. I've been doing Morning Pages for almost a year now (on day 355), and I can't believe how much it's helped me create better habits, build confidence, and find more clarity around my goals. Your videos are so well thought out, love the graphics/characters and the way you keep it engaging. Be well, my friend.

Simie! this is really gonna help me. My journaling habit has grown exponentially within the last couple of months. But it's been all brain dumping.. yes, some gratitude..but A LOT of negative venting!! These methods you introduced are really going to help me with my gratitude and logging down memories. My favorite is the rapid logging! I've never tried anything like it so I'm excited to see how it changes things for me!

Super helpful video. The sweet spot around time spend on long form journaling and reps versus time spent is the thing I am going to work on. Love that there is a cheat sheet, as I was thinking while watching that I would need to watching more than once as there is so much in it! I find your approach to journaling really speaks to me - I can see how I can use it in my own practice. Thanks! :)

i keep coming back to this video bc i'm working on incorporating this stuff into my own bujo and daily life :') i'm slowly but surely getting there! tho i do have a question abt the gratitude journalling: you try not to repeat things from day to day, but what are your thoughts abt repeating things monthly? what if i, every month, am grateful for the same thing like economic stability bc that's what i really want and need? should i/could i repeat myself monthly? is it up to my own discretion? just wanted to hear your thoughts abt this 👀 also this meme @ 17:33 in sticker form was amazing. loved it!

HI! Ok I am going to guess that your tag was formerly vietspringroll? I recognize your pic. Anyway. Girl, do what you want with that gratitude. I do repeat things from time to time. Like if i'm blown away by the sunrise and I stare at it like 🤩 I will repeat that lol. If it's something that just really make you :)))))) than repeat! you make the rulez. also THANK YOU for acknowledging that meme 😂. that was literally my fav part so this made my day haha. also also, this months bujo stickers are like 85% the ones you sent me 🧡 (really hope this is who i think it is lmao)
