i used to have alot of trouble going into flow state, what really helped me was doing alot of shadow boxing rounds focussing on breathing, pacing, countering, rythm, relaxation etc. keep the rounds very simplistic at first and really pick just a few techniques to flow with. vizualizing the shadow boxing context whilst trying to flow is what is key in those shadow boxing rounds.

The faking is something I've tried to work on in the past few months. Especially smaller guys with speed.. raising a knee and counter punching etc

Perfect timing as I engaged in my third sparring session yesterday. I've only been doing the classes across the week consistently. Fridays ( sparring day) are tricky on my end to attend in general. However, This 4th of July holiday week shifted schedules around. With that said, and completely unrelated- Have you ever done a review on specific brand cups / mouth guards ? If so, I'd love to see it. (I've never worn either one in my life.) Just trying to find the best and most comfortable one. Thnx 👍

I would say don't worry about brands but go to an MMA store as the brand will have different shapes. Personally I'm using sisu mouthguard where it's very customisable. Good luck

I don’t like when you agree to go at sixty percent and the guy’s trying to KO you. Great point about newbies watching limbs instead of the torso or their feet when in close

i dont know what level youre on but its easiest to counter with angled straights in my opinion.
@ZonbiNinja-w2c4 ай бұрын
angled straights or overhands but it also really depends on your style what punches make best for your counter fighting. i dont like to counter with kicks except when i catch a kick.

The most annoying thing for me when sparring newbies (or just guys with no sparring etiquette,) is the constant blitzing. It causes accidental clashes and it put me in a position where I have to use more power than I want despite trying not to hurt them. Good sparring partners that understand what healthy sparring is supposed to be are extremely hard to come by.

Personally I don't mind this as long as controlled strength. I try clinch always to nullify them as many guys even after a year training don't know how to deal with the clinch

As someone with more than 10years experience I can say, it is easier said than done, for us that have tons of experience it sounds easy to do but fighting is a very demanding art in all aspects, spirit, mind, body, technique etc. Most of the times it will take months for someone to at least punch without lowering their guard in the process or to kick doing the rigth thing with their arms let alone respond acordingly and smartly agaisnt all possibilities.

Instead of eating properly you promote a chemical vitamin. How much of those chemicals your body can even properly abosrb is questionable at best and they are all known to be underdosed. You should probably just eat healthy foods. (meat, diary, eggs, fruit in my opinion)

I 100% agree with you in that our nutrients should be coming from wholesome, natural foods. It will most likely interest you to know a bit about Gabriel's eating etc. We have always eaten very healthily at our home. The kids were raised on Organic meats, natural fish, organic veg - everything natural. No pre-prepared foods what-so-ever, no sandwich meats due to the MSG, Nitrates, Nitrates in them. We have always stressed a healthy, clean diet. When Gabriel was a late teen someone bet him he could not eat any treats, sweets, ice cream etc for a month and Gabriel turned that into a 2 year session..... and I mean no crackers even. For the last 25 years Gabriel eats numerous very small meals throughout the day. Avocado is a staple, as well as Organic natural cheese, and everything else to balance it out as well. I am sure you get the picture. I have never come across anyone else in my life that eats as healthily as Gabriel does. The vitamins and supplements are "lets call them EXTRA's" - in case he is missing something, as you cannot get everything even from eating super healthy. Gabriel has walked around with an average body fat level of 5% - 7% for the last 25 years. Calliper tests, electrical measurement method, under water technique weighing method. He is super lean and not too much to him in the way of any bulk. The dude has no long term reserves for sure. I have worked, owned ,and been in the gym business over the last 50 years and I have never come across anyone who monitors and researches his nutrients any more than Gabriel. With 5 doctors in our family it has never been far for Gabriel to find real answers about how the body works, and how to take care of it. It boggles my mind in today's work with instant easy access to good information from sites such as The Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School, and many other reputable research papers etc - it is all there and people still go and eat fast foods - not only fast foods - but way, way too much fast food. They get fat, have health problems and then ask the health care system to save them...... makes you wonder????? Keep training hard and stay healthy. Gabriel's dad - Keith Varga
