My cats are thriving on this diet. I use a very similar recipe. It's changed everything for my two cats for the better. Less shedding, less hairballs, less puking, less pooping, and their fur is the softest it's ever been. She's completely right, the litter doesn't smell nearly as bad. I adopted an obese cat years ago and I couldn't get him to lose weight no matter what I tried. He's lost over a pound since I switched him to this diet. I make it about every two weeks. It's an ordeal but well worth it.

Tip : cat when they kill prey and start eating them are still warm and cat love it, many people make the mistake to give the raw food right out of the refrigerator to their cats and no one even cat like to eat their food cold. Simply put the raw food in a bowl and put the bowl on hot water from the tap until it is warm to the touch then serve and you will see how much quickly they will eat it and enjoy it.

Thank you for these videos. I was forced to euthanize my sweetheart a few weeks ago due to Chronic Kidney Disease and wish I would have known about RAW diets earlier. Who knows if circumstances would have been different for William but after watching a recent Netflix documentary and starting to research things, the Raw Diet definitely makes more sense, to me, than feeding our loved ones Dry Food full of preservatives. If I ever decide to adopt another cat this will be the route I take.

You forget the most important benefit and let's call it number 6 : Your cat is going to live a lot longer than on kibbles, many can easily reach 23 to 25 years on raw diet. On kibbles they will barely make it to 15 years and often with kidney problem and all sort of other ailments.

Thank you for making all these videos I've decided to switch my nine year old cat to raw food after she tore a muscle in her leg. When we were trying to figure out what was wrong with her the vet gave her an x-ray and found that her pancreas is inflamed as well. She's been overweight for years even though she's been on a diet for just as long and has never been the healthiest cat. I'm really hoping that changing her diet will improve her health. But these videos you've made have been incredibly helpful. This series has definitely been the most informative and clear that I've found. Doing my own research I've found out that dry food is bad for cats even if it is grain free. Nova my tabby has had terrible dandruff her whole life I'm hoping this solves or at least helps that out too. I'm excited to make this change!

@@descai10 not sure but I don't think it helped, she never fully ate raw food and she developed IBD so she's switched to a sensitive stomach wet food thats mostly pork based (she was only eating chicken before it was very hard to get her to switch) and thats noticeably helped her. Dry kibble still makes her throw up and causes all sorts of issues with her tho. So wet food is definitely helping!But the vets don't want her to eat raw as there could be bacteria issues and she's just so old and sick now that I'm avoiding it for sure.

It's never too late to switch them to a raw diet; my cat is 13 y/o and after years of feeding a homecooked diet, I have switched to a mostly raw diet. Just do so gradually over a month. I noticed when i added probiotics prior to putting him on raw that his stomach no longer rumbled as much, and now on mostly raw he no longer vomits after eating and no more rumbling I am hoping I staved off IBS). I had to arrive at this on my own through reading b/c vets have always recommended that 4D canned food that they sell for 2 bucks a can and which is "pork" or "meat by-products"..If one doesn't take the time to make the cat a priority, one should not have a cat.

I had my cat Baby pass away not to long ago from old age. He passed in his sleep. Taurine is the most important thing a cat need . Unluckily cooking meat will distroy taurine and most branded cat dry food are deficient in taurine . I also heard taurine causes many diseases in long term and it's progression is slow so it's difficult to reverse the health condition once they got diseases bc of deficiency in taurine. So going to give my Persian cat 50:50 crushed dry food mixed in raw meat.

I'm looking at trying the diet for my 3. My food processor is still packed up from the move so it will probably be January before I can do this.

My cat used to he a huge dick. She used to be very anxious (licking bald spots) and angry (hissing and scratching people) to the point that I took her to the vet and was prescribed MEDICATION. However, when I started this about a month and a half ago I stopped giving her the medication maybe 2 weeks in and she has been fine. Its honestly pretty amazing when I think about how bad things used to be. I also agree with your point about the smell being gone, or at least elevated. I used to gag a lot when cleaning her litter and although there is a little bit of smell it isnt NEARLY as bad as it used to be. She is a long haired cat that I wash often so I dont know about the coat being silky smooth deal, but she had defiantly improved. Thank you for showing this to me because this was a LIFE saver for my kids who could get scratched a lot.

I'm wondering if I have perhaps put too much eggshells in this batch. I also, didn't have the taurine (it's on the way) so I'm also wondering if that has something to do with it.

I do feed my cats with raw fish, but only the small ones like anchovies and sardines... and they love it... small fish is ok to be fed to the cats... Stay away from big ones like Tuna

I haven't graduated to a raw food diet yet. But I have started feeding a high protein, low fat canned food diet to my newly diagnosed Diabetic cat. She is 10.5 years old and has eaten dry food all her life. After much research I discovered how bad dry food really was and how bad the RX/DM dry food is for diabetic cats. I've treated her with insulin for a little over a month now and the vet just keeps making it go up and up and up. We were getting close to 10 units of insulin twice a day! My cat still wasn't too active and she wasn't grooming herself and she still wasn't happy and I've spent hundreds of dollars on diagnosing her, buying the insulin, the needles, the RX food and even home testing supplies. Until I hit a forum about diet and diabetic cats. She has now been on high protein, low fat, extremely low carb canned cat food for almost 48 hours, and during this time I have NOT given her insulin. Her blood sugar is in the safe range for a diabetic cat and she is PLAYING AND GROOMING HERSELF and purring and more active. NO RX food and NO insulin. Just meat food with no bullshit. She is eating TikiCat and Fussie Cat canned food for now if anyone is curious. It's amazing what the proper diet can do. I would love to eventually try her on some raw food! I just wanted to share this. I am so happy for my cat and every cat in the future will be on wet/raw food. I will never feed dry food again! :)

I have noticed the same benefits with my family cat. I feed our cat a raw diet made with a premix supplement which is so easy to prepare. If you only switch your cat to a raw diet for the benefit of having a sweeter smelling litter box it will be worth it! I choose to spend a little more on feeding our cat because I am hoping that in the long run it will end up saving us money with fewer health issues as she gets older.

Tip 2 : Cats are crazy about Brewer's yeast just sprinkle a little on top of the raw food and they will devoured it frantically! Brewer's yeast is also excellent for their health. Benefits The University of Maryland Medical Center says that brewer's yeast is an excellent source of both B vitamins and the minerals chromium. B vitamins play an essential role in the health of your cat's skin, coat and eyes. They facilitate fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism to keep kitty's energy levels up, and support both his liver and nervous system. Diane Stein, in Natural Healing for Dogs and Cats, says that commercial cat food may be lacking in vitamin B1. Severe vitamin B1 deficiency can cause seizures, lack of motor coordination and even death. She also recommends chromium to regulate blood sugar in diabetic cats. Holistic vets, including Dr. Richard Pitcairn, recommend daily supplementation with brewer's yeast as a way to keep fleas from infesting your cat. Daily dose should never be more than a teaspoon and beware that some cats are allergic to it.

Recently had to put my cat down last Saturday, November the 10th at 7:00 due to kidney failure, FIV didn't help him either, he was in pain and we as a family chose it was better for him to rest than to suffer. I just wished I had kept him inside so he could ride the kidney diseases more better, as well as gave him a better diet. I always wondered why do we have special dry food for him or can wet food from your local Walmart or pet store, and vets saying that he needs to eat those types of foods but attributes to his health determinant, but yet there are "prescribed food" that he can take to lose weight, or to give him the minerals and vitamins that he needs to get better that are ridiculously more expensive. knowing this now and your videos help, ill try to help my uncle with his cat (the brother of my cat) so he can live a more healthy life. its funny how people tell us what is good for us to eat but go back 30-40 years ago, diseases and issue weren't as severe as it is today, its what they put in the food for not just us, but for our animals too. I'm going to change that, for everyone in my house, and in my family (human or not)...

I switched my cats over to your chicken raw diet recipe and they loved it and they started acting and looking so much healthier and the poop situation was amazing. Then one of my cats got salmonella:( so all the vets I went to said i need I take them off “immediately” and blah blah so they’re back on their old food and gizzy seems to be feeling better and I wanted to switch them back to a raw diet once they weren’t sick anymore. I get my meat from a local place that’s organic and all that good jazz but they said their meats go through a salmonella testing and prevention system but that it’s never 100% free with chicken so I should always treat chicken like it has it. I really really want to continue with a raw diet but not sure what to do or where to go for all the vets are completely against it. Do you have an informational video about preventing salmonella? Yes, my cat is a rescue and they sent me home with the dry food the vet recommended. After I switched to raw her coat got really soft. Her fur before was more course snd not very fluffy or soft. Her fur after two to three weeks became noticeably softer. Also her feces doesn’t stink at all. Snd she doesn’t cry in distress as much. She would cry before she went to the bathroom snd now she just goes. And before her going in her box stunk up the whole house. Now her litter doesn’t stink at all. She had bad flatulence snd that’s completely gone too. She loves her raw food. My cat when I was a kid used to beg for raw meat s as no I thought she was strange. Now I realize she was asking for that was best for her body. We have her some when we could afford it. She hunted a lot too. I can’t tell you how happy she was to get her raw meat. It’s not as convenient to feed her this way but it’s not overly difficult and her looking and feeling and smelling better is worth the effort

Yep.. my cats fur are shiny and healthy. My cats eat raw meat for breakfast daily. But cat wet food and unlimited access to kibbles throughout the day. My cat used to have POWERFUL stinky poops sometimes!! But then again, he was a VERY strange cat. I'm on a very high dose of methadone, so I don't poop often at all. Ninja (my kitty-friend) seemed to only feel comfortable pooping when I'd poop. For a cat, this was a bad thing, especially for a cat who doesn't have powerful opiates retarding their regularity... Anyway, his pooping habits led to him having human-sized poops. They were GIANT poops for any kitty to make, even for a giant, 10 Kg kitty like him. Also, because he was such a large and strong kitty, it was dangerous to try enforcing 'feeding times' on him. He was the boss when it came to feeding time. When he was hungry, he'd politely tap my arm until I fed him. If I ignored his requests, they'd become demands, which would lead to him trying to eat me!! I'm only half-joking, too, since he really would attack me arms quite viciously if I ignored his requests for food... He was the most magical kitty in the meow-iverse! He died two years ago aged 14.

In the book of dr henry beiler titled Food is your best medicine he actually mentioned the experiment made in the 50's sbout the benefits of eating raw food by citing the group of cats eating cooked food vs group eating all raw. The life of cats eating raw are almost twice as much as those eating cooked foods. Even tho pooh of cats eating cooked foods killed even the most stubborn weeds while the pooh of cats eating raw had no effect on weeds. Dr Beiler emphasized how tocic cook foods are. That book was published in 1957.

Start with 1 tsp of raw mixed in with canned food and over the period of 2 weeks add more raw and less canned until he is completely transitioned. They are creatures of habit and only like what they are accustomed to eating. Remarkably once they switch over they act like raw food was the best thing ever, even though they wouldn't touch it at first. If the cat is a dry kibble addict then try doing the same thing and limiting feeding time to twice a day and mixing the dry food in with the raw food until they get used to it. With rescue cats I typically can convert them in 2 weeks but I have read in some cases it has taken up to 6 months to completely convert them to 100% raw. Good Luck!

An unrelated, but important, benefit: cost. The "best" commercial cat food (canned, of course - no cat should ever be fed kibble) is insanely expensive, often two dollars or more for a 5 oz. can. By feeding raw, I'm able to give my pets (my dogs are also raw-fed) the best for no more than it would cost to give them the cheapest cans from the cheapest store in town. I've gotten mixed reactions from vets. Some love my raw diet (I got it from a vet, actually), and others do not, primarily because they've been told for years that commercial diets - usually the most costly ones - are best, even to the point of recommending a prescription diet of dry food for a cat with urinary tract issues! I soak up the praise and ignore the critics. The proof is in the health of my cats, and that is all the validation I require.

I started my cat on the Instinct raw brand diet and it has changed everything his litter doesn't smell poop and urine his hair is getting shinier and his teeth in his mouth have no smell he doesn't even touch wet food are dry food anymore

I'm not sure if you're ever gonna read this but I don't have a freezer or refrigerator at home but I wanna put my cat on a raw food diet. I just don't know how to start, like after I make the food, is it okay to feed it to him immediately or do I really need to store it in a freezer first?

Half of my cat's diet is already raw - gophers and voles. He likes to start at the tail, and work his way up to the head...usually leaving the head uneaten. I can't stop him... I have to watch him closely for worms in his stools... I won't have any issues with putting him on a raw food diet...raw meat from the grocery store can't be worse than varmint flesh...

Is it normal for my cat to vomit her raw food? She does this sometimes, usually when introducing a new type of meats. I use a pre made raw food package as I don't do it myself. Without changing the brand or anything from one week to another, she at certain point vomited her meal. Then would be unappealed by the food and skip a meal to the point where it makes her dry heave. It then goes back to normal.... I am getting a bit worried that I might need to go back to....kibble.... which she barely ever had with me. She is only a year and a few months old. She has been with me for a few months and her initial transition was done with no issues at all. Let me know if this is something any of you went trough when starting raw feeding or if it happens for younger cats or simply new protein.... Thank you!!

Im defo going to try the raw food diet with my cat. Can i ask some advice how to switch from regular cat food to eventually all raw. I love my boy i dont want to hurt his tummy. How much raw meat do you give them etc etc and can they eat any meats or just certain ones? He loves tuna, i give him that alot and cooked meats, but after this im now aware that cooking the meats probably wasnt the best of ideas. Any advice would be very much appreciated 😊

My one year old cat just had PU surgery and was told by the vet to feed a prescription diet (Hill’s, Royal Canin or Proplan) for life. He doesn’t like any of them and I’m not okay with this. And they’re expensive and require a vet prescription to purchase them. After doing some reading, I am considering switching to raw. My question is, will he benefit from a raw diet or will this bother his condition? I cannot find much information on raw food for urinary tract issues. Thank you in advance.

I have a very handsome 8 year old black cat. He has crystals and his urine. He suffers from asthma. It still has yet to be controlled. Uses of Prednisone gel inside his ears to help him breathe. And using that for about six and a half years. I know that is very bad option what is the best option that we have tried so far. As far as the crystals he has been living on a prescription food both can and dry, which is very expensive because I also have three other black cats which I love very much so they all eat the same food because I cannot separate they're eating schedule. He was also born with a heart defect, the right side of his heart is three times the size of the left side. I have wanted to change a diet of all my cats 2 raw food for many years and their doctors had told me NO! That's not an option because of the health problems my one cat. So I went to another veterinarian hoping that she might say something different, I was told a big FAT NO! My daughter is a vet tech so now I am at our third that which happens to be where my daughter works. I did not want to go there because my daughter will now feel obligated to pay for all four of my cat's vet bills and I did not want her to feel obligated for anyting. And we will tomorrow and I know what this vet will say, because nobody will give the okay for my cat to be on raw diet. And I am asking anybody for advice if they thank it would be allright or would it be detrimental for me to switch my cat to a raw food diet? If I don't tell a vet they will never know and they can test his urine and tell me if is Crystal's get worse or stay the same possibly by the grace of God get better. What does anybody think I would be okay I'm trying to switch what I really be hurting my baby that I love so much? I will take any advice, shall I do what a doctor says I shall I do what is in my heart?
