Will do, I did a 1958 Impala video back in 2020 (you can search for it on the channel) but I'll do a new Impala video in the future that covers somewhere in that time period.

Interesting, but I balk at buying a new car that costs more than I owe on my house. Maybe the used market after they're a few years old will be a bit kinder to the rest of us.

I have been a subscriber for four years now. Thanks for the great content. My pick would be the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Undercuts the Audi and BMW in price but looks better and has similar performance.

Lots of comments about fuel economy and I totally understand that, especially with current prices of gasoline, but 1. No vehicle ever paid for itself by saving gas and 2. Anyone who ever thought of an SUV as an economical mode of transportation knows zero about SUVs. They are not designed with that in mind. Oh, some are much better than others, but none will ever be in the top 50 percentile. Apples and Oranges.

The really rare thing is the front engine rear drive domestic v8 lux car, where the Chrysler hemi 300 soldiers on as the sole offering, for under $50k
@oldcarmems2 жыл бұрын
The current production Chrysler 300 is a great automobile, it's the last of its kind. It's the modern version of the Ford Crown Victoria. A big comfortable rear-wheel drive car with a V8 (optional) and a laundry list of luxury features and options for a reasonable price by today's standards.
@georgewilson11842 жыл бұрын
I liked the days when you could get a new GMC or Chevy suburban with a entry level of trim & options & have it your way like burger king and you could still get panel doors on the rear there are certain dealerships that deal exclusively with the Utility companies & Rail Roads And they always over order there is always one or two left on the dealers lot after 30 days you can go in and cut a deal on a nice utility wagon or pickup truck with some unique features but your going to have to be open minded to colors it might just be all white or some special combination That represents the R.R. Or utility or construction company

Quite certain that anyone who buys a V8 anything these days has enough disposable income to throw away on high priced petrol fuels. I traded in my beloved 5.0 Mustang GT for a 2.0L Turbo PHEV. Almost the same performance for 1/2 the cost, depending on driving conditions

Not interested in any new cars. The pricing is just ridiculous. My last new car was an 07 Mazda 3 for like $17k. The a/c imploded after 3 years and so I bought a used 94 Roadmaster wagon for $5k. Never seriously considered a new car since.

@oldcarmems2 жыл бұрын
I am with you on that. I love the new Hemi V8s, I wish Stellantis would continue to make them for many years to come. Looks like 2024 will be the last model year for all the Hemi V8s. The GME T6 3.0 liter I6 (in both standard output and high output versions) will be replacing the 5.7 liter and 6.4 liter Hemis respectfully. Rumors are the Stellantis factory that produces the current Hemi V8s has already begun production on the GME T6 - not good news for the Hemi V8.

Wow, the biggest is the best bargain, lol. I wonder how much money is spent on gas in 7 years which is, or used to be, time most people own their cars for. Temporary (hopefully) higher prices due to the war being ignored

Bargains? 5 years out all the European models will be worth 1/5th of their purchase price because of the extreme focus on digital electronics and underhood plastic.

SUV's of all makes and models are multi people carriers such as parents, children and in some cases grandparents. So safety is essential along with careful driving practices. Why on earth would one want or even need a V8 high spec horsepower engine let alone go fast. I fail to see the logic in doing so?

Thanks for your support of the channel. I agree with you these new V8 SUV prices are extremely high. However in today's new vehicle market V8 engines have become what V12 engines used to be - extremely rare but sought after commodities. I wish it was like the old days when just about every new vehicle had a V8 and didn't have an astronomical price tag. What I did in this video was list what the best bargains were in the current V8 powered SUV market where prices are so extremely high.
