In free roam on PC, where head shots are quite hard to pull off because of free aim and where griefers seem to be more of a problem (and since, in all fairness, no cards are really "needed" for most PvE situations, unlike PvP encounters), I would suggest using Paint It Black, Strange Medicine, Iron Lung and Fool Me Once. It is to this day the best build in my opinion to face most griefers (might want to swap one of the cards for Sharp Shooter if exclusively using sniper rifles), and it still is very useful for PvE in general, with or without tonics.

Slow and steady + strange medicine + fool me once + kick in the but. I am close to lvl 200 and this is my favorite pve setup. It is for trading. (Moonshine i enjoyed most) I am on the back of my horse, using 2 handguns. I go in the middle of enemy npc crowd and trade. Disadvantage: hard to run away with slow and steady. So you need to judge first, if you can shot back fast enough, to recover enough health. (2 handguns = many shots in less time) 1 You recover deadeye from taking damage, 2 you have demage reduction and 3 you recover health from dealing damage.

I use Paint it Black, Strange Medicine, Fool Me Once and Iron Lung. Paint it Black because I’m a terrible shot sometimes, especially when my friends are watching, and the rest keep me alive. Pop a level 1 tonic and I’m basically invincible

The first build is my go to load out for anything pve related.. literally everything.So good with teammates that you can't trust.I honestly love the card system.Its actually insane how many players don't know or care about them.I see level 70s and sometimes 90s that don't have loadouts.

Imma sub this really helped me. Earlier I was being griefed by a group of 3 they were using explosive ammo then i switched to the pve cards i killed them over and over, this made it easy for me. I just started watching your vids they help a lot.

Rockstar should make it possible to create a build and save it. I get tired of when I use a pve build and some idiot thinks I can't pvp because I grab collectibles or if I just mind my own bussiness. Just wanna swap from 1 build to another instead of swapping card for card and getting killed in between swapping the cards a few times.

Solid and extremely helpful video, always great to equip damage cards when you discover a legendary animal. My favourite ability card build for both Free Roam/PvE: Slow and Steady/Iron Lung/Fool Me Once/Strange Medicine in Defensive Mode with Special Health tonics.

Paint it black, strange medicine, iron lung/fool me once, eye for an eye. Basically its perfect for starters, its quite cheap specially now that they do discounts for card and give free ones+ outlawpass gives more and upgradeds and so yoi get free dead eye you get free health, you wont die since you're tanky and with paint it black you just headshot it doesn't matter weapon.

My best build for PvE Paint it Black Strange Medicine Peak Condition Iron Lung The idea is pretty simple. PiB for headshots. Strange Medicine to heal and to play more aggressive. Peak Condition mostly for the stamina loss reduction. Iron Lung mostly for the stamina regain bonus. And the most important feature of the build. If you get attacked by a high level try hard Iron Lung will save you from 1 sniper shot, Peak Condition will help guarantee a 2HKO with carano and 1HKO if you get attacked by a posse of newbs. And most importantly Strange Medicine is the only card you need to swap if you need to tryhard back, Sharpshooter replace it.

I use paint it black since i started playing RDO. It just makes it easier to kill enemies or animals that are small so you can't really hit them easily or sedating animals that you know will run away

Live for the Fight is an underrated card. It’s always on. It’s always generating Deadeye. It doesn’t increase core drain, rather it reduces it.

It’s good but it comes down to is it the best option, which honestly I don’t think it is since tonics are so readily available and it’ll give you more than enough deadeye for what you need to do if you pop even a tier II snake oil. But luckily the game lets you build anything and be viable it’s just those people with the wacky one shot build or tanks will have an advantage albeit a advantage that can be overcome with skill and some cheeky tricks

my build is Paint It Black, Kick in the Butt, Fool me Once and Winning Steak. With Lemat, Mauser, Lancaster and Semi Auto for weapons. For sedating animals, I replace PIB with Slow & Steady and Varmint rifle. I just threw some cards and guns together. After watching this video I am not so sure what to choose now.

I've started using: PiB, strange medicine, sharpshooter and kick in the butt/eye for an eye. Kinda undecided on which is better out of the last two. Reason being, is this build works pretty decently in any pve and pvp situation and with any weapon - it's not the best at anything, but will do decently in any scenario. As a result, I don't have to keep messing about switching cards. Loadout is usually: Rolling block, double barrel shotgun and then either dual LeMats for pve or dual Mausers for pvp.

I run 3 of 4 cards of the Slippery Bastard build when I play using my Carcano/scoped rifle. The only card I don't run is Fool Me Once since I'm usually at range and I replace it with Eye for an Eye instead; if you're running melee, though, definitely Fool Me Once. Slippery Bastard + shotgun is pretty fun too for me.

These are some really good pro tips! Now, I wish R* could let us have a save feature to save these different profiles., let say 5 profiles that you can switch between quickly. Also: Slippery Bastard Bastard could be renamed to "Bring Mach'ete/kn'ife to gun fight" or "Hammer time" (with heavy russian accent ;) )

A way I have more fun in rdo is when going into pvp I don’t use weapons that have the most damage like the navy, or Lancaster, I’ll use a bow or try using a knife, and a Schofield, and fanning all 6 rounds into someone is so fun, dead eye with a bow is way more fun than dead eye with a lancaster

Well I tried build number 3 with PIB, Winning streak, Short game, and Peak condition. All were tier 3 card and Using a special miracle tonic and the ghost panther survived all five shots from the pump action shotgun. Then IT mauled me causing my first ever death in red dead redemption online.

Good builds, I personaly use A Moment To Recuperate because it's a faster health recovery card. Of Single Purpose is freakin good White using melee weapons or the lasso you receive less damage Also, best shotgun in PVE, also really great in PVP is the repeating shotgun

For melee you should use hatchet or the throwing axe (i don't know how to spell it) they have a sprinting attack to one shot (only works from behind on players)

There's a hatchet variant called the hunter hatchet that looks like a Nordic bearded axe. So, naturally, I dressed up as a viking and made this melee PvE build: Paint it black Cold blooded Iron lung Of single purpose Run from enemy to enemy, killing them with axe or machete, gaining hp with every kill, and using deadeye and a bow to pick off anyone giving you trouble at range almost effortlessly. I use this build to melee entire packs of wolves to death and walk away with full or almost full hp, or to clear moonshine blockades and bandit camps solo. If you start getting focused down or shotgunned to pieces, you can take cover and pop any health tonic and you should have enough of a buffer to take the rest of the enemies out pretty easily. Obviously positioning is important, don't wade into the crowd like you're invulnerable, and pick off troublemakers with the bow, but overall it's a very survivable build!

I will forget to use Dead Eye if the primary card is other than PiB. Gunslinger's Choice is my choice 'cause dual wielding revolvers or pistols is just too much fun & satisfying to pass up, & it makes the revolvers a good substitute to a repeater.

I'm always irked that people seem to assume that everyone can do headshots with ease. Even with Paint It Black, I have a heck of a time getting a headshot. Paint It Black frequently doesn't mark enemies at all, or will put the mark off to the side of his head (so the shot misses entirely). As for using Slow and Steady to hunt... it's only useful until the enemies get in close, because they then stand RIGHT under the horse, and you can't aim low enough to hit them. I can't say how often this happens with Cougars or Wolves.

I'd like a top 5 builds for dealing with griefers if you haven't done one already. I had a posse literally session stalking me the other day until I blocked them. Seemed like they wouldn't die no matter how many carcano shots I put into them, even with sharpshooter etc :/
