Memories of my visit in the winter of '91. Irish coffees all day long in café Slavia. Twas heaven... One of the most beautiful cities in the world. I'm a massive fan. I'd move there in a heartbeat.

Sadly, much has changed since then, tourism has really transformed the city. The early 90s were very special, indeed. It's still good, just different and certainly more stifled. I miss the buskers that are now few in numbers as well as the small vendors on the streets and in the metro stations.

Good morning from Greece, we visit PRAGUE almost every summer. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Our favorite is the Louvre Cafe and my favorite location is Mala Strana. The most amazing cafe's I have been to are in Vienna. They have the most amazing cakes. Does Prague have that same cake culture? I also love the ones in Spain for their hospitality and how at home they make you feel and they always have fresh orange juice to enjoy with the coffee. Morocco is also really great for the cafes, for their atmosphere and good food.

I would also suggest 3 coffee places right on Národní street, which are a bit more posh or tourist-y - Cafe Louvre, Slavia and Národní kavárna (National coffee place). They also have a very beautiful interior. (: And as always, thank you guys for the great tips for new places to explore!

Perhaps the tourists don't enter the Cafe Oriental because it's well known to have the worst service in Prague. I've been there about 4 times over the years to show visitors the cubist interior and I always regret it. The surly waiters will ignore you if they don't know you. Not just tourists, if you don't have a Prague accent, or they know you, expect to be kept waiting - not just for your order but to get someone to clean the table from the last customer!

Another amazing coffee place is the IPPA cafe (ippa means international Prague pastry academy) there are three or four locations around Prague but i usually go to the one at jungmanova it has amazing coffee and pastries and is absolute instagram material as well
