Dude, folks walking past watching you bust your moves in the shorts must have been thinking wt... but then again, who doesn't love doing karate kicks and going all ninja! Love the vid. iv had the all-day shorts in my basket, I can't decide between the navy and ice grey. doing a complete refresh on my short collection as dropped a size - stay epic and don't stop waving your hands around like you don't care. honestly though, love how animated you get, shows you have passion for what you're doing and that's why I want to watch these vids.

@@Stridewise Went through my old collection including my spare collection in the loft (roof space of a house in the UK that's turned into a room - and out of my 16 pairs of shorts, 11 are blue.... with that said iv dropped a waist size from 38 to 36. so a good clear out is in order.

Thanks for this video! I tried the set shorts from ten thousand and I have big thighs and the medium was just too tight on my thighs I had to return them. I didn’t try sizing up because the waist fit so well. Also have you ever tried vuori Kore shorts?

Ten Thousand needs to work on the sizing for their pro line. I had that experience with the Tactical Shorts (sizing up was too loose on waist) but not with the set short, personally! Vuori, I want to like their stuff but I just think it's ugly :/

Hang Ten, a classic beach inspired brand, makes a decent pair of hybrid shorts; very similar to the Faherty's shorts mentioned first. They have belt loops as well a drawstring, and have mesh pockets with a very lightweight feel. As a side note, hybrid shorts are not always the best for the beach as the pockets can collect sand which weighs them down, even with mesh pockets; probably better suited to a pool.

Thanks for the rec! Wouldn't any short with pockets risk collecting sand, even dedicated board shorts? And can't you just empty the pockets?

@@Stridewise well of course you can empty the pockets, but I was doing that every couple of waves, which gets annoying. If you're boarding it's worse; coupled with the force of the wave the added weight is detrimental. For more intense ocean activities I would go with boardshorts that don't have the side pockets.

You're not supposed but you may want to consider wearing swim briefs with them. The brand Papi makes decent ones but I'm sure you can find better pairs. Really depends on how hot the weather is where you're at.
