Great video! You are quickly becoming one of my top watch channels, keep up the good work! Interesting perspective considering you don't seem to own a diver (as shared from your collection review). Also considering you have smaller wrists, what would be your personal picks if a diver entered your collection?

Thanks so much! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! I think if I were going to buy a diver I would seriously consider an older Submariner, or one of the many vintage compressor style divers. My favorite is Longines, but the vintage pieces are a pretty penny now and the modern Legend Diver is just too big. An Enicar Sherpa Divette would be nice too.

Very well thought out review. You hit the nail on the head. These are clearly the divers we all drool over and desire. Your inclusion of Seiko in the list was perfect. Seiko is the worlds mechanical tool diver - a watch that says to us ; yea I do look good, now lets get to work.

Thanks very much! Seiko has represented great quality and value for a long time. I would be remiss to ignore them! Glad you enjoyed and agree with my assessment. Good to hear from you as always!

I own three watches out of five on your list. Seiko Turtle, Seamaster Professional and Submariner.

I would have placed the blancpain on number 1. It was the first divers watch. The Rolex I think has become iconic , amongst other things, because of their aggressive merchandising.

Fernando Sbert agreed totally.

Nice vid...but I have a small correction for you. The "Turtle" SRP777 is actually a modernized re-release of the vintage 6306 & 6309-7040 cushion case divers released in 1976-77 and not the 6105-8110 (shown in your pic) which was released in the late '60s.

Yikes! I guess I didn't do my homework. Thanks for pointing that out! Definitely good to know.

Just curious. Which model Sub do you think is more iconic, date or no-date? Cheers.
@TheCriticalGentleman7 жыл бұрын
Hard to say, I personally like the no-date sub because I am not a huge fan of the cyclops in general. As far as iconic, I think they are both recognizable although I will admit the cyclops is definitely a Rolex signature. I might have to go with the date sub in that case.

Surely the 62MAS is the iconic one, not the remake of it??

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms made In 1953, Rolex submariner later? I though Rolex was the first to make dive watches before that. So it is Blancpain which has a longer heritage
