As a heavy runner returning from a 6 year hiatus I bought the Cielo X1 as my first supershoe based on your reviews earlier this year. I liked the shoe so much and it was such a refresher after years of Nike loyalty that I built my entire Hoka rotation of Mach X2, Skyward X based on your recommendations. I got back into running, lost 50lbs and completed a marathon and ironman 2 months ago. Merry Christmas and thanks for the year Yowana! 🔥

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve ran in dozens of shoes and can honestly say the Cielo x1 has changed my running. It’s so versatile and comfortable, can be super fast as well as the shoe I put on when I’m struggling to get out the door. Plus, they are durable. I have almost 450 miles in mine and still going strong

This video made me nostalgic! I found your channel through the Cielo videos last year when I was training for my first marathon, and have been watching daily since. I bought the Cielo based on your review and it’s easily my shoe of the year! Awesome to see how far you’ve come!

Hoka really had a good year, the cielo x1 is awesome. The Hoka cielo x 2.0 will be much lighter with even more aggressive rocker but same big stack of PEBA

I gave up drinking Sept. 26th, 2021 as a 30 day challenge to myself to see if I could do it. Haven't drank since. 1,183 days in. Amazing decision for me.

Ran 3 half marathons this fall in the Cielo, all between 1:26 and 1:28. It's a great comfortable bouncy shoe. All 3 were PBs. The stability was very nice too

Nice video, thanks and merry Christmas! I just ran a 3:16 in the Cielo X1 and definitely enjoyed the extra comfort, not just throughout the race but the DOMS wasn’t half as bad in the few days after. Strangely, I used the AF3 for a marathon last month and my time was actually slower at 3:24, but as you say that could have been other variables. What I did notice though was that my legs and feet really suffered more. Not sure what to use for my next marathon now! By the way I have the white/orange colorway for my Cielo X1 and the laces don’t seem so bad.

Yeah, you are right about the drinking. I feel my legs are tired the day after I drank some beers. I'm going to run a marathon in april, in the Cielo :), and will stop drinking after the holiday season. Put all my chances for a good race right. So I will have nothing to blame but myself if I run badly the day of the marathon.

Alcohol impairs glycogen synthesis and therefore is one of the worst things you can consume after exercise. I finished a 60k ultramarathon and they were handing out champagne at the finish line. I was like, naaah I’m good

Eyeing this one as a new tempo/speed trainer with a plate for stability for some pronation issues. One of the few Hokas im interested in now. Currently best shoe for me is the Adidas AP3 and somewhat the tempus. Any input appreciated!

Yowana that R8 Roll Recovery roller is the bomb! I had one and left it at a 10 hr race. I was pissed. It’s $120+ . I loved it so much I bit the bullet and bought another one. I take it to my run group runs on Sundays and half the run group “rolls” out with it after our run. It’s great just to roll over the legs just a quick minute or two after a run

My hobby jogger theory is that the time and energy your body uses to break down alcohol will just push your back your recovery because a poison is more important for the body to deal with than fatigue from running

How are you finding the Coros Pace 3? Trying to decide between the Pace 3 or Pace Pro for an everyday watch
@supwellКүн бұрын
It's been great for me - no complaints on the core functionality. Battery life is awesome, it's extremely reliable (haven't had any bugs/freezing in almost a year of use) and GPS is more accurate than Garmin - on my recent 50k race it matched the course distance almost exactly. I don't care all that much about the tech features like screen clarity etc so wouldn't pay the extra for the pro

I can’t even remember the last time I drink alcohol. It was a rare occasion over the last several years but as marathon training progressed, it became more rare. Then I just decided to shut it out completely. Those rare occasions, even if it was just a single drink would have my head hurting so bad and my sleep was terrible, my watch even would recognize my sleep was bad. It’s not like I told my watch I had a drink. People who say, oh a couple beers will help me sleep, yeah I’m sorry, I don’t believe you. Yeah I’m over the garbage. Sugar stuff is next. I’ll shut it out for a few months especially when training is in full blast but that’s something I keep craving. I love ice cream and my mom bakes cakes, cookies and makes homemade candy. How do you tell your mom no lol.

The easiest way to get faster quick, is to just got to sleep listening to a motivational David Goggins video playing all night. Somethin about him yelling and calling you weak really gets me goin. Jk. Best things I've found are good sleep and having a structured plan. If I don't have my weeks planned out, its hard for me to just wing mileage and workouts.

How is this possible…1:45 per day spent running, round that up to 2:30 with showers, getting dressed for doubles. All while having 3 kids, a wife, a 9-5 job, watching full football games, and running a KZbin channel that posts long videos frequently. Like how is any of that possible while not completely neglecting your 9-5 and kids.

The embargo doesn't apply to a shoe you bought. You didn't agree to it; you don't have to adhere to it.
