I’ve been on Etsy for a year. I sell handmade jewelry. The market is pretty saturated, but I like what I do. I’m learning to take better photos and not give up. Thanks for the advice. 😊

Currently bingeing all of your videos. Very helpful, thank you. I’ve been toying with the idea of Etsy for a while, but nervous about laying out too much money for things like A1 printers etc, so I like the idea of using a printable art product as a way to get products out there and to practice SEO and marketing. Thanks for all the advise

Thanks Laura! This video is so timely as I just opened my Etsy shop yesterday. I'm super excited, but as we said last week, it's a marathon, not a sprint. I will be working on stocking my shop and trying to pace myself (and sleep 😘😂). This video really helped me to relax a bit about the whole process. Thanks lovely! 🙏❤️ Xx

Thank you for this! I’ve just started my own Etsy printable shop and I’m finding it hard to know where to channel my energy in order to bring in those first sales. This was really useful and has answered several of the questions I had. How important do you think product reviews are in determining your ability to make sales? Thanks again!

Hi lovely. So sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. Works been quite busy lol. I think product reviews can be an awesome help to your business and so I always recommend slowly working on building them in your shop as you go along. But I will say that not starting out with tons (or any) product reviews shouldn't stop your Etsy shop from getting off the ground and growing. I talk about this a lot more on my Art Printables On Etsy Course because I know this is a worry that so many new Etsy sellers have. But you can definitely drive in traffic and convert them to paid happy customers in your shop without having product reviews and in fact, almost ALL new Etsy shops do 😂💕 So you don't need to put unbelievable pressure on yourself to bag tons of reviews straight away. As long as you're creating high-quality products, you have your shop branding on point and you are focusing on driving in internal and external traffic on Etsy then your shop will start to make sales... Regardless of Etsy reviews. Reviews are definitely something you want to focus on adding to your shop over time as they help customers make a (quicker) judgment on how trustworthy and reliable you are as a shop and seller. But there are other ways that you should also be showing this in your shop (e.g. your branding, written content, imagery, customer service, etc) which you can work on before you even gain a single review 😀💕 In short, I definitely think reviews are super helpful and wonderful to have in your shop but you should still be able to make sales when your shop is just starting out and growing without them. So although they are important in the long run, I would say that it's super important to focus on other elements in your Etsy business first and foremost... E.g. high-quality products, branding, target audience research, clear concise product descriptions, S.E.O and driving external traffic, before you fret too much about mass scaling your product reviews. So sorry for the long message lovely haha I just totally understand how worrying and frustrating it can feel to think you aren't making sales because you can't compete with other shops who have 100's of product reviews. But in reality, you definitely can 😀💕

Theme/focus is a problem for me. I do have one particular type of audience but my audience buys all sorts of TYPES of things with the same theme/feel. I finally uploaded my first printable and can't make it FIT into the thumbnail. And I have spent HOURS trying to figure out how to make an EDITABLE file. I have probably watched 30-40 HOURS of tutorials and nobody shows how to make something editABLE. I can create anything. I can upload and list anything - but if that party invitation is going to have the kid's name PRINTED on it, shit outta luck. I'll have to do it - which I am fine with but that's not what I'm trying to do! As for the cohesion of my shop - I think I need to have a few shops. I opened my shop in late September and have had 15 sales. Some print on demand, some crafts and even a vintage xmas sweater. My "theme" is curations, creations and crafts.

You can use Canva for making printables and if you wish to offer editable printable then you can provide them with the canva link for your design...because not everyone is comfortable with photoshop..
