I think when it comes to food there’s a fine line, simply because a lot of people genuinely know nothing about nutrition. If I had a friend with kids that was feeding them only junk I’d say something. But they’d be my friend, and they’d be feeding their kids only junk. I agree somewhat as in sure he could help out every now and then but if he works all day isn't he doing his part? If you get to be home all day and not exert yourself much as kids go to school maybe and this may sound crazy but then wouldn't her part be doing the non working things. Should he now and then help her out with certain things sure absolutely but if you work hard all day and have in the back of your mind that your the financial backbone of your family that pressure is not something you can dismiss. So you want wether it's the man or woman (usually it's the man let's be real) to work there ass off and do there part and on top of making sure everything gets taken care of outside of the home add more things to do when maybe he or she can relax and unload when they get home. You have to realize not every home is as progressive as you would like and sometimes each partner fills a role. I once had to work a 3 to 12 shift which meant I would leave by 1 and not get home till almost 2am so you expect me to also do household things as well? And if I don't then what I would be considered a jerk or something.

Watching how the 2 sisters in the last part reacted to their father made my stomach drop to my feet. I managed to leave my husband shortly after I noticed our 19 month old daughter would yell and try to get our attention to distract us any time we interacted in front of her. When I pointed it out to him (always later, when she was asleep as to not escalate things further in front of her) he would, of course, deny it was happening and call me crazy etc. I was only able to leave due to pretty miraculous circumstances otherwise I don’t know where we would be right now. FYI I am a social worker and I have seen cases where children have been placed in the State’s care because of a messy (inhabitable) household (not saying that her household is at that point but it could get there). We understand that life can be complicated and messy but one has to have things in place to help them navigate such issues. She has a husband and kids that can help so... Excuses only gets you so far. How about making some adjustments to facilitate change than make excuses? Before I became a Social worker. I was a teacher so all this semantics, baseless postulations and assertions achieve what ends? Probably in your school you were not taught how to keep your space tidy. In essence, the school system, their parents and society has done these folks an injustice. And you summed it up to privilege. Being cleanly is a privilege? She is a lawyer and while her profession might be demanding that does not excuse her from taking responsibility if that’s the case. Hire someone to assist. Rachel Lee She had a son who died of kidney problems, that kind of experience traumatizes a person and makes them paranoid. I know someone whose son got leukemia and he survived thank goodness, but ever since she is super careful about what they do or eat. It might seem annoying or condescending but you have to attempt to see where they are coming from.
