You solved a mystery for me on the Dior stick. There are days I LOVE it and days it looks chalky or breaks down. I think you're right. Everything about this is counterintuitive. I think it matters what sunscreen and primer I'm wearing. I try to avoid liquids as much as possible because it makes travel easier, so was thrilled when they came out with this. My skin is HYPER sensitive to fragrance, but can handle Dior foundation and skincare for whatever reason.

So funny, two nights ago I was at Ulta and saw the new Bobbi Brown foundation. I immediately pulled out my phone and looked up to see if you had reviewed it. Ha ha. I am returning it today as it does not keep me matte, does not last a shift at work, and clings to dry patches.😢 as far as the sweet scent goes it smells like lavender essential oil!

Same! It isn’t as dewy as I had hoped it would be, but it’s the first foundation I feel looks just like skin. Also, I don’t feel I HAVE to do a 15 step prep before using it. I’ve used it when I just am in a hurry and don’t have time to spend 20 min or so on skincare and it looked flawless. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm also 68 and have enjoyed make up since high school. I don't know about you, but my first mascara from Maybelline came in a little tray. There are a flat brush on one side and hard mascara that has to be reconstituted on the other. We would run our brush under water then rub it back and forth through the hard mascara to make it applicable. There was no way to get a consistent product. So funny when I think about it now.

Tried to order it and it wouldn't take any credit card I used. So not sure about that site ( Tried and True Foundation )

I really like the Bobbi Brown foundation, the skin longwear concealer is very good as well. But I have a new HG! I'm a bit late to the party on this, but the Burberry Beyond Wear is THE most mature skin friendly foundation ever. Doesn't gather in smile lines even after hours and stays put. Do try if you haven't previously

I never thought I would like a stick foundation. Props to Dior for this product. I’m combo skin and setting just the t zone keeps the shine at bay. And the way it works with my cream bronzer and blush is great. I think this would be great as a pot concealer if wearing Dior forever liquid.

I recently purchased the Dior foundation stick and I’m very happy with it. It has a little more coverage than my beloved Lancôme foundation stick and an equally smooth application. On my dry 74 year old skin, it looks nice most of the day and has a slight natural glow. Thanks for sharing your experience with the foundations.

Im 60+ and tried the Dior foundation stick, and it’s nice but breaks thru in my T zone emphasizing my pores, just overall a shinier finish than I like- I still prefer Lancôme Teint Idol stick, much more blurring and it does look better and better thru the day even with my oil breakthrough. Very flattering.

Your reviews of formula finish have been spot on with the foundations I've tried based on your recommendations. I have combo oily and prefer satin finishes (leaning slight matte). I do focus on non-alcohol foundations if I use it daily. I do agree that Ulta brand leans medium-full. I add moisturizer to a smidge amt of the foundation when I want a light-medium finish. Im going to try Dior as i dont use primer or powder. Thank u for the reviews!

Thanks for your reviews. I don't know if it was the wrong shade or what, but I didnt care for the Dior stick. I have, in just the last 2 days, been wearing the new LYS stick foundation. It has worked very well on my 74 yr old normal to dry in spots skin!

Hi Stephanie! I so appreciate your foundation and concealer reviews. I like all your reviews, and these are my favorites. I got the Dior stick right away (2N like you), and while you are combination and I am dry it seems it is fantastic for both of us. The sticks last so long, so the cost doesn’t bother me as much as it would otherwise. I will be taking it instead of my liquid foundations on trips.

Ohhh my freaking god! I was just thinking about Victoria Jackson yesterday! I thought I was the only person in the world who remembered her. She is the beginning of my love of makeup. I watched her infomercial so many times that I saved up my money and begged my mom to let me order her makeup kit. I got it and watched her tutorials over and over and to this day, I still swipe my eye shadow on from outer lid to inner like she taught, because it makes your eye look more open. 🤣 (people always ask me why I do it backwards). Thank you Stephanie, for trying that product. I’m 47 and haven’t thought about ole Victoria in a long time. Oh completely different. I like Ulta, but it's not a 100% bulletproof foundation from am to pm without budging and looking entirely perfect that entire time like ELDW. ELDW is almost in its own category!

I didn’t care for the Sephora skin tint. It felt oily and didn’t cover my redness on my cheeks like at all. I much prefer the Iconic London skin tint (in fact o get tons of compliments when I wear it)

Have you ever tried the Guerlain Parure Gold matte foundation? I think it’s one of the most beautiful formulas for a matte finish that lasts all day in hot weather.

@@StephanieMarie lol I know! But hey, it’s the “foundation” of everything else that goes on top; it’s essentially the most important part of it all, in my opinion. And that’s why if it’s worth it, we’ll keep paying for it 😆 (and if it doesn’t work, thank God we have pretty amazing return policies!) It’s the new Parure Gold Skin Diamond Micro-Perfection loose powder. It’s quite expensive too 😬 lol but it’s a good amount of powder! And for oily gals like myself, I do use powder every single day, so I appreciate that. I can’t remember exactly the amount at the moment, but if I’m not mistaken, I believe it’s 30 grams of product! It’s a big tub. But the formula… omg. The most elegant, soft, skin-like matte finish I’ve ever experienced. Alone. And with the foundation👌 If you go to the Guerlain website, on their menu, click on the “Makeup” tab, then under “Face”, click on “Powder and Blush”. It should be the last one as you scroll down, after the Meteorites.

I love the old Ulta packaging better! This just looks blah. For the Dior stick foundation would you say it is as good as the forever matte foundation? I just started using that one again here and there. I have oily skin and also live in a very humid environment. Central Florida lol. It’s awful.

My problem with both Sephora and ULTA’s in house brand foundations is oxidation. They would start out looking nice and neutral but dry down kinda dark and orangey. Have you had this problem?

I would not. I think truly dry skin would do better with the LYS stick foundation or the regular glow foundation. If you're happy with the glow, I'd stick with it!

Hi, I've tried this and found that Dior has way too much fragrance in their foundations. I went to a Dior counter at Nordstrom and could not find an exact match. I tried the 1.5 N and the 1.5 W the Matte Foundation. They both felt great on but I am having a hard time matching my skin tone. This is the first time in a stick foundation that blended beautiful on my skin. Any ideas on to get a Dior match? I am a light/Medium with a neutral undertone. Thanks

I need to know the fragrance on that Dior stick so bad. It's $99 and we don't have the return policy you do. I'm far more sensitive to it than most people. Is it less noticeable to other Dior Foundations? Dior Forever range would be a good benchmark for me. I've got Forever Matte and that is just too strong w/the perfume.
