Your dresses are lovely and you really own your style! I LOVE Taylor's sparkly outfit. Before retirement I worked at a daycare. Oh my, almost all of the little boys wore something, or everything with Spiderman. But....they were always interested in anything shiny the little girls wore. Whether it was to look at or to touch it, many were fascinated by it. All of the children loved how the afternoon sun would reflect off the sequins onto the walls and floors. As a woman, mom, a granny, a former childcare worker, and a former child who adored fashion at a very young age, I am proud of you and Sam for embracing Taylor's love of sparkles and colour. As my older granddaughter say, she didn't want to be a lemming! She wanted to choose her style, not just be one of the followers.

If you do go over to Asia you must go to Borneo - a few days down the Kinabantangan River. Searching for pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys and of course orangutans. Definitely Botswana- I had amazing animal sightings in Moremi NP in the Okavango delta, sadly a dry, wet season so no canoe trips, but great for animal sightings. And while you are there in the area, a trip to Victoria Falls is a must. I think I need to visit Canada, only been to Churchill and Winnipeg. It's looking great.

I loved making my kids clothes when they were younger, sadly I rarely get asked these days as they are all teens/tweens and like drab clothes 😂 nothing made me happier than a funky fox coat or a pair of shark dungarees. I will have to wait for grandkids to enjoy that feeling again. Glad Taylor has such funky taste in clothes 😊

Happy new year Tamlyn 🎉Having had 3 boys I had to really shop around for their clothes. I found bright colours in Bennetton . I didn’t sew a lot when they were small and there wasn’t the variety of fabrics either. Nowadays we are so spoilt with the choice on offer. I liked all your makes but especially the sweatshirt as I coveted that fabric. I may have to buy some as went back to look. I’ve made that style once but think I needed to go down a size as it sways out. I’ve made the tie version twice in cotton jersey. I really like the Hettie dress but as I had no time to make myself anything this Christmas I thought I’d get it later. I like it in velvet( susieinspain) version as a special dress but also in the viscose twill like yours. I may do as you did and take a smaller seam allowance on the armholes to give more ease across the back. Lastly Taylor’s outfit was lovely. I have a little grandson who likes sparkly bright colours! 🎉❤

Hi Tamlyn, just thinking about you wanting to do more embroidery, you should have a look at Sashiko. Ive just started a cushion cover using Shahiko embroidery, and love it. It's the type of embroidery that can be used to customised me made makes. As I don't have any current sewing machine projects, I'm going to be bringing it along to sew toon on 8th so can show you the book I have and my project. Cx

My kids are adults, I've always disliked how clothes are made/sold for kids. I have a 2 year old grandson and agree about boys clothes, although he did get a jumper last Christmas with a sequin dinosaur on. He refused to wear it because the backing of it was horrible. I don't sew for him at the moment, maybe when he's older 😁. Love Taylor's outfit 💜

Try not to leave your stitching in the hoop when your not stitching, it can stretch the fabric. X stitch is def slow sewing. Took me 2 years each to do red and blue geisha

Hi Tamlyn, I completely agree with you, boys clothes are so boring and unimaginative. It’s hard to get things that aren’t cartoons , mean looking things or just bland designs.
