Congrats on the iron! I love seeing youtubers get free stuff, they work so hard to bring us free content the least we can do is subscribe. Use it in good health!

Wow, that is an amazing gift! You will love it. I have a yellow Oliso and it is a work horse. The only thing I'd say to keep a look out for, is the calcium deposit that ends up clogging up the steam holes. If you don't keep them clean, they will eventually spit out onto your fabric at the most inopportune moment. Ask me how I know. But the iron is easy to clean. You just have to remember to do it. haha. So many lovely goodies today. Loved seeing it all. And yes, the fabric ban philosophy is going on in the states as well. But I agree with you about supporting small businesses at home and abroad (for me) and when finances allow. Thanks for putting so much effort into your vlogs. It's been fabulous having more of you in my sewing room. Stay safe and warm. xo

Thanks Tamlyn. Lovely stuff. Would be great to see you tracing your Tauko pattern please. Hoping to pop into FFF the week after next so will keep my fingers crossed it’s a day you’re in (although I know I’ll be very well looked after by your lovely colleagues if not). x

You bought some very lovely fabrics and I’m looking for to seeing your makes. I also think it’s important to support small businesses and all of my favourite shops are small family owned shops. I just placed orders from two who had some great fabric on offer. Have a wonderful time at the weekend retreat. Happy sewing, Tamlyn.

Really enjoyed your vlog, and I hope that the stormy weather there wasn't damaging. I noticed a few times you looked up, I guessed the weather was pretty distracting at times! Eek! I think similar to you, I like to support the small craft and fabric shops, even though I know it will take me ages to get to use the purchases! I've ordered myself some Nurge embroidery hoops that you showed. Of course I saw a few other things through the link you shared and couldn't stop myself.. I'm looking forward to a Bee Happy embroidery kit 🐝 😎 ttfn x

We had the storm too, red in my area and lots of damage/ disruption but getting better today. Lovey fabric. I’m making my first hope just now, ready for the warmer weather. I am trying quilting too, doing the Debbie Shore a year of quilting, a block per week. .

Aw wow tamlin. The inn on the lake! We got married there in 2006 and often go back for a visit. I really must check out the retreats. Xxx

I got an Oliso iron a couple years ago from Missouri Star Quilt Company. It worked great for about a month, then just died and would never heat up again. I went back to my good old reliable ($40) iron. Getting one for free is the perfect price for that iron. 😉

Lovely fabrics and plans Tamlyn. I love the jacquard animal print jersey from 1st for fabrics! I might be tempted by that one too - do you think it would work as a Kielo wrap dress? X

Lovely fabrics. Also, how fantastic is your new iron? A word of caution regarding the water holder. My iron had that type of plastic (from what I can see) and after a few months in the sunny corner of my room, the plastic turned to crumbs quite literally. Admittedly here in New Zealand the sun is intense at times, but perhaps not leave the iron in a sunny position? Enjoy your sewing both at home and elsewhere.

I apologize if I have left this comment before as I know that often times child rearing advice is rarely wanted. Been there. However when our 5 year old kept waking us up at night and I was at my wits end, I put a sleeping bag under our bed and told him that he could come in anytime he needed to and pull out the sleeping bag and sleep on the floor but he could not wake us up. We left it under there and within 5 or 6 months he was back to sleeping in his bed. I still left it under our bed for several years. Just in case.😊😊😊

Is it worth reassuring people that subscribing on KZbin costs nothing, Tamlyn? I think people might associate subscribing with a payment and maybe that puts them off.
@sherrill4356Күн бұрын
This is so true. I’ve had others tell me they can’t afford to subscribe to all of the channels they watch. I think it gets confusing since there are “membership” and Patreon channels frequently mentioned. Maybe flooding the comments with “subscribing is free” could certainly help these vloggers we enjoy watching and gain so much free knowledge from

Lovely fabrics! But, can we pretty please move on from the Donny shirt? It’s been the go to pattern for a number of you for quite some time now, which proves it’s appeal. But, as an over-the-hill, chubby gal, the Donny has just never appealed to me. Use one of your new and exciting patterns!!
