Tomato paste: I make spanish rice ALL the time. Just toast brown rice in s frying pan NO OIL, toss in instant pot (Or rice cooker) add water (the amount you usually add to cook up your rice) some garlic and onion. Once cooked, add the tomato paste to taste ! SOOO good! Some days I even add italian seasoning to my spanish rice! Delicious!

Here in Germany frozen corn come in small boxes so I only buy cans of corn as they are "cheaper" than buying the "gourmet boxes" of frozen corn. I do buy canned lentils for that rapid "Bolognese" sauce can of chopped tomatoes, can of brown lentils (washed) a teaspoon of nut butter (usually almond or cashew) italian seasonings and black pepper warm through while cooking the pasta and voilà - tasty "Bolognese" sauce.

I was so used to canned peas as a kid that when I moved out and bought a bag of frozen peas to use in a recipe I was all confused. "Why aren't these mushy? They pop when I bite them." 😂 I still prefer the canned peas if I'm eating them as a side dish, but I use the frozen peas for everything else 🙂 I agree about the green beans though, I don't even like them fresh that much because those canned nasty things ruined it for me as a kid 😄 Edit: Those water chestnuts are amazing, I always have those on hand (same brand even haha) I won't make a stir fry without those water chestnuts, so delicious.

My grandfather worked for Green Giant when I was growing up so we always had unlabeled cans available. Haven't had canned peas in a while, but I did like them. I still have a hard time eating asparagus because the smell can trigger my gag reaction. Even though I know I actually like raw asparagus and if it's not cooked until it's dead, or is in small pieces in a stir fry... I've heard that asparagus cooked in the air fryer is "like eating candy." Per Dr. Gregor's suggestion, I used to mash up 1/4 cup white beans and eat it with my oatmeal to bump up the protein. In that quantity I couldn't taste them.

White beans blended with roasted eggplant, roasted garlic, dill and lemon juice, used as a dip or sandwich/wrap filling. White bean soy curl chili. I love water chestnuts sliced up in fruit salad, bamboo shoots and beets are also good canned. Green Beans are ok canned to me, canned green peas are horrid, canned spinach is only edible with vinegar on it. I like getting the canned tri-beans (pinto, black & kidney) to put in a casserole with mixed grains and a bunch of veggies -- the three different beans all have different textures. The veggies I always have in the freezer are kale, riced cauliflower, broccoli and corn. My fridge always has baby greens, cabbage mix, zucchini, cauliflower florets, red bell pepper, grape tomatoes, baby carrots, apples and grapes. Meal prep weeks I have a whole bunch of extra stuff. What do you all do during weeks when it's just horridly hot? I'm so sick of salads for lunch and dinner right now.

flyby product review: Lemon Pepper Pizzazz? i would only add this to something i wanted to make too peppery; the pepper overwhelms all the other ingredients including the lemon :( ; solution? majorly reduce the pepper; those who want more pepper can add it at home; maybe i can save this product by upsidedowning it on my front loader during spin cycle which way vibrates and thereby float excess pepper upward to the bottom of the spice bottle. Desert Catalina dressing? works great as a blue ribbon designer ketchup, but i don't put ketchup on salad. Just sayin'.
