In my ronnie rig I use putty above the kicker on the hook causes the hook to pull over so the hook point is nearly touching the deck wich gives you the edge of alot I much lower to the bottom and also makes the hook movement more controlled almost steadying it on the initial take try it if you get ot right the difference is night and day it looks clumsy but the balance weight is in the fishes mouth once taken in helping the hooking

Quick question Leon I want to try using helicopter style rigs however my local doesn’t allow lead core or naked or and leaders. So I know I can try it with tubing but it’s been that long I’ve forgot how to set the beads as in the correct distance between them for different bottom surfaces. Thanks in advance 👍🏻

Hi, I don’t use tubing for helicopter rigs myself as always worried about what beads or stops to use without making it a death rig

That’s exactly why I asked didn’t know it had a name but that’s enough to put me off. As when I made a mock one up the beads just don’t slip enough for my liking. I’ll just stick to lead clip but will be trying lead core when I get down Sandy. Cheers for advice Leon.

I use dog buscuits so im gonna use dog buscuits on the surface to get them feeding and use a food pop up cut to the same shape as a dog buscuit since the colour matches and shape does the fish should mistake it as another dog buscuit
