The Compact Pickup Version of the 2024 Toyota Stout

I would have to disagree with you on that ! I have owned 4 Toyotas and have had very little problems with them (one was totaled by another driver and one was stolen) another was traded for a new 4Runner ! The average price of a vehicle today is 25-30k so Toyota is not any more expensive than other car brands and you cannot beat the reliability and resale value

I have owned four Toyotas. I am presently leasing a Toyota RAV 4. I love it. The problem iis that Toyota dealers are adding anywhere from $3500 to $5,000 or so with B.S. add ons. Every Thousand Dollars ads $20 plus dollars to the cost o the vehicle. Unless you are someone that can pay cash it makes Toyotas $5,000 adds more than $100 on the payment which with current interest rates makes a lot of cars unaffordale for retirees, many workering class citizens and some small business owners. My lease is ending and I'm not sure if I can afford the next one.

I would be afraid of the Supra with the BMWs engine. BMWs tend to fall apart after the warranty expires. The crankshafts tend to break causing complete engine failures. Everyone knows that if you buy either a BMW or Mercedes Benz, ONLY Lease them because they start having Major issues with the engines and electrical system failures. I believe that Toyota has made a huge mistake in going in with BMW. Furthermore the rear end of the new Supra looks like Crap. It is one Fugly looking rear end. It looks like the afterbirth of many GM products.

Do you know anything about the car? BMW B58 6 cylinder engine is the most reliable and refined engine in the world, plus the ZF 8 speed transmission. Of cause the good thing need take good care of them, if people never want to spent money on proper service, then don't touch it. Toyota's reliability mostly is base on they use very old tech, 10 years plus tech, then they choose a better and cheap one put on their car. Supra is same as BMW M240 but different logo and looking. This is a good step out for this Japanese car maker to make a reliable and performance car of course won't be cheap.

@@fenglin6095 Yes the older in-line 6cyl from BMW was / is an excellent engine. But the inline 4cyl, the V8, W8 and W12 cyl engines aren’t very reliable. In fact everyone I know who has had BMWs in the last 10-12 years have had nothing but problems with them after the warranty expired. I put over 300K miles on my 87 3-series BMW. It was a fun car. Currently everything I watch on KZbin the Narrator’s always say to lease them and Mercedes Benz only until the warranty expires and turn them back in. A friend of mine is a local judge and he’ll only lease them for 2-3 years. When I was younger I bought a lot of fun (and expensive) vehicles but I never kept them for more than 2 years. Now that I’m older, I choose to invest my money into things that will appreciate in value so that life will be easier for my wife and I as she approaches retirement. I want us to enjoy our Golden years. I realized about 25 years ago that I really don’t care what others think about what I drive. I simply don’t want nor need to impress others with what I drive. I owned a small commuter car when I bought my first apartment complex. I watched a friend of mine who got a huge settlement from an auto accident. He bought his wife a Mercedes Benz and after they had it for about a year, she wanted something else. She continued to do this every year until the last vehicle she bought was a Nissan SUV. That was right at the same time that I bought the apartment complex. They blew all the money from the accident on vehicles, new furniture etc. I’ve almost have that apartment complex paid off and have made other investments over the years. I was able to retire early and my wife is now down to working 3 days a week, while my friends that got the settlement are still driving that old SUV that’s costing them a lot of money to keep running. In 18 my wife and I bought 54.5 acres of a mountain in north central WA state and built a custom home into the side. Our home is worth $1.2 million, yet we owe less than $400K and plan on having it paid off by the time my wife retires. Both of our Subaru’s will soon be 5 years old and our 4WD pickup will be 13 years old. We live comfortably. We lost our vacation home in Maui during the fire and our insurance company told us that it would probably take about 4 years to complete the rebuilding of that home.

I am looking for Opinions from other viewers. My wife and I own 3 vehicles. All 3 of them are very low mileage. Both of our Subaru’s are 2019 year models. My wife has an Outback and I have a Forester Touring. We are keeping her Outback. She wants us to have only 2 vehicles. Our 3rd vehicle is a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4WD pickup that we need for work around our property, (it currently has only 35K miles). We are thinking about selling my Forester Touring (only 10K miles) and buying a new Toyota Stout AWD hybrid. My Forester is worth more than what a new Stout will cost. Or we can sell my Forester and our Ranger and buy a new Tacoma 4WD double cab, hybrid. By selling both my Forester and the Ranger we will have enough to pay cash for the new Tacoma. The new Tacoma will serve as both my personal vehicle as well as a pickup for work around our property. If we sell both of those listed above and buy the Tacoma we will be down to 2 vehicles like my wife wants. I know that even if we buy the hybrid Tacoma we still won’t get as much mpg than my Forester currently gets. So, what is YOUR opinion on this matter? Please be honest and kind with your opinions. I will not consider Hybrid. yes you will save on fuel but for only if you drive a lot in city, otherwise not too much different. But meanwhile the Service cost will be high and there will be 2 system will have issues especially the battery. Most pickup trucks drive a lot on HWY, this will not save much fuel if use hybrid. The hybrid system is when use brake or stops at traffic, the engine power charge the battery, but on HWY, there's no spare power to charge the battery unless you use PHEV.
