I thought the pulsatility index is (PSV-EDV)/mean=PI?

You are correct, Mohamed Nashnoush, but your equation refers to the arterial pulsatility index. The portal vein pulsatility index is calculated differently (and more simply): Trough portal velocity/peak portal velocity. This excellent RadioGraphics article explains the the application of portal vein PI further: pubs.rsna.org/doi/10.1148/rg.311105093 (see portal vein section). Hope that helps!
