Finally, someone mentions the AMC lightweight 350s! As an AJS Model 8 rider, I can confirm that it has a lively performance but I don't think an 85mph top speed was ever claimed for a 350. It does handle pretty well. I enjoyed your selection, they were all worthy choices. This class of bikes is often overlooked. Very nice video.

Well of course 🤷🏻 It was for the CSR model And with 24 hp that seems about right really

@@bikerdood1100 I didn't think there was a 350CSR. The 250CSR (G2/M14) was pretty hot, I believe.

The B40 was lovely bike. An ex army one was my first bike. Many fond memories. It handled muddy roads very well even with a beginner on board.

Nice to see the Tiger 90 highlighted. This was my brother's second bike after graduating from a C15. His Tiger 90 had reverse cone pipes. You could hear him coming home late at night long before he entered our street!. As always, thanks for posting. Your posts are among my favorites.

1962 the year I passed my test,and went from my 9E Villiers to a Triumph Thunderbird,can't remember many 350s about very few in my neck of the woods

Nice selection. I have a B40WD, a pleasant little machine. Don't mind you didn't mention the Norton 50. The later 50Mk II was basically a rebadged Matchless.
@bikerdood1100Ай бұрын
See the Norton as a 50s bike really and the mark 2 is a bit of a parts bin special for sure

As a matter of interest i owned one of the Triumph sprung hub bikes,i bought it as a combination and later did away with the sidecar and rode it for 2 or 3 years as a single,interesting handling but i compensated,have you ever features the Triumph sprung hubs on your programs ?

You're certainly right about the 250 learner law sounding the death-knell of the British 350 class. For me, the choice would be the Tiger 90 or the Viper. In my then-Midlands neck of the woods, there weren't too many Matchless or AJS bikes around in that period. That's understandable of course, given the plethora of locally-produced makes.

I’d tend to agree Deb loved her T90

In 1964 a pal of mine bought a 2nd hand bsa gold star 350. It was always unreliable. I don't know how old it was but he found out that it had been used for racing so it was probably past it's best. Looked nice though.

Always a problem if a bike has been raced no what make it is

Some nice bikes but I think I'd rather wait a few years & have an R5 later to be RD350.
