It's pretty great having these _Ultimate Tone Reference Guides_ available whenever we need them. Thanks yet again Johan for yet another outstanding vid!
That Vibroverb and the strat. That’s the sound we all know and love. That Concert with the Les Paul was pretty awesome too. Sounded like the beginning of “Still the One” with the chords.
Damn! That Pro!!!! I love the sound and response of 15s for guitar; I feel that they are greatly overlooked. However, every time I hear a Bassman including mine it reminds me that every era of bassman tweed- 70s silverface just sounds like rock n roll!!!!! I love your videos!! I hope you and your family is well and please keep up the good work! Thanks brother!

They sound somewhere in between a tweed and a blackface. It's so cool how you can hear the circuit evolution. Listening to this you can still hear the raunchiness of the tweed amps but there was also that bit of blackface sparkle in them. You can definitely tel where Fender was going.

they aren't even demonstrating what the concert is capable of though. i own a 1960 concert, its a very rare variant of it as well. with the true vibrato, and the p10r's its so versatile though. you can impact any part of the frequencies with the amp. literally any sound, any place in the tone you want to alter, its there. its my most versatile amp. and its very very clean. someone though patched my speakers and ruined the cones before i got it.

Browns and blondes are my favorite Fender amps especially the 40 watters. That Pro sounds fantastic! Pro, super, vibroverb, bandmaster, pro reverb, concert, etc. It's hard to go wrong with a 40 watt fender from any era, but the two knob bass/treble stack with presence control are the cream the crop! I played a 63 vibroverb for a long time, I went to pickout a 2x10 amp from an old hippy guy when I was younger, for my choice at $700 he had the brown vibroverb and a K&M (two rock) prototype built in a blackface bandmaster chassis in a 2x10 combo. I couldn't decide for the longest time between the two until I cranked them up and ran the vibrato on the vibroverb against the optical vibrato on the two rock. That sealed the deal on picking the vibroverb. In hindsight I really wish I could have bought them both, but that wouldn't be the first amp that got away...

That Twin sounds MONEY. But overall, I think most of the tone differences we're hearing here are the result of the different speakers. Great vid as always. I'd LOVE to hear the reverb channel of that Vibroverb though. Even when the reverb is turned off, that extra gain stage adds something to the mix that makes it a little less "dry" sounding than the other Browns imho. Thanks!

The Concert and the Bassman sound the best. I've never heard of the Concert but the 10 inch speakers seem to make it a bit brighter. Some of the other amps sounded good with the Strat but not as much with the LP. I guess that's expected, it could simply be the difference of speakers too.
