@@RobBeatdownBrown Not to be a pain or anything but can we get a notation version because I love your videos but it takes me ages to master the groove unless I write the notation and there is no notation here so I have to write from what you play which isn't easy.

For all the people who be wanting the notation, a word of advice: Write the notation yourself! Yes, you’re going to have to keep going back and re-listening a hundred times, but believe me, it’s worth it! You will know the groove inside and out, and it’s also great practice in deep listening. Just try it!

Wow...lets just talk #1! Such a cool beat. I just "got it" (not mastered, but can PLAY it!) This should be required for all beginners instead of AC/DC (lol) It's cool because: 1. You can dance to it, already. 2. Uses a (slightly tricky) displacement (snare) technique. 3. The double hit on bass must be "nailed' or the rhythm crumbles instantly. (So you KNOW you are off, as opposed to some rock beats) 4. It's fun as hell. Thanks Rob.

Bro, when you're ready for a vacation come to Maine.. fishing, hiking, camping, lighthouses for days. Then, hell, you could stop in and show me how to use my new EVO's 😁😎 played some as a kid. 30 years later survived an Aortic dissection.. woke up from the coma ready to get funky on the skins.. like a kid again. Found a new Ludwig Element Evo kit for$350.. it's brand new!!! I've been watching your videos, thanks man. I've watched plenty of our drummer homies videos and find most to be distracting from the matter at hand. Which is how to do it.. for whatever reason I 'hear you' and can then (somewhat) apply it to the kit. Happy to be here and drumming again. Might I suggest some Adidas Sambas, I've worn them since middle school a d they are actually a killer drummin shoe. Keep putting these videos out my guy, you are reaching folks!

Great choices of grooves, great approach to breaking them down. (I hate the "one limb at a time, now play them together" approach.) And I really like the arrangements. The Cold Sweat ("Stubbs") groove is really sparse. And, the call to action to educate the youth in the funk is well-received. Old guys stretch out your limbs and kick it! One suggestion for future groove episodes... maybe cite a couple of songs. In this episode, some are obvious, but it would still be good to drop them in the notes. I think that would have been great for the reggae episode some time back. 4 great tracks that exemplified the 4 beats.... It might take additional time to prepare, though. Maybe the fan base can make that a habit in the comments. Heading over to Patreon...
