Should have included Matt Jones out of Arkansas on this list. Dude was a freak athlete and in his freshman year he helped beat Eli Manning in Ole Miss. Had the most rushing touchdowns in the SEC until Tebow came around. He switched to WR and was drafted in the first round in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Jaguars. Ended up not totally translating and got pushed out due to substance abuse problems. Great story of talent who changed, got a chance, and blew it.

BUT Mayfield definitely should've had more success this year regardless.

Jack Mildren, Oklahoma -- Think he won championship; the next year? Kern's mate at safety for the Colts. Both could have been a great QB for the Colts; but they would have had to battle with some dudes named Morrall and Unitas for the top spot. . .
