Oh goodness, the ‘melting’ is soooo dangerous! I remember being at a breeder’s once, just browsing around, and they had a baby Senegal in for feeding. They let me hold her, and she immediately went Melty. I’ve never been so close to blowing my life savings in one go. 😆😍💕

Lol..I keep my head down n look at my feet at my breeder friends, hes always offering chicks, I took the only harlequin he ever had, it was two cheap to say no, he wanted one of his birds to get a chance at free flight, so he's flying a year & a half now..

I've seen lots of chicks who are, and expected mine to be, but I never put him in a cage, he has 1 he sleeps on top of and plays with his toys in, bur he's in a bird room and always had enough room to fly, and I was ff training I had him out at 4 months so from very early on he was so good at flying, very little clumsy behaviour except walking because they all are on the ground, ..

Ok, so I have one female 2 yr 7 mo old harlequin macaw that I got at 4 months as a baby at a pet store before I realized the plight of abused and abandoned birds. Since then, I've rescued a 3 yr male military macaw, a 34 yo goffins male and a 29 yo male severe macaw. I love them all to death! In any case, all but one of them have that baby wing flap at times, especially if they snuggle. At night at bedtime, the two big macaws also make the baby sound you talk about. Perhaps what I love most is when my harlequin puts her head/ body down low as you described and steps up to cuddle and just bobs her head up and down repeatedly and makes a baby sound. I used to go to the pet store most every day when I first met her and sing a special song to her. Now whenever I sing that song to her quietly and snuggle like we did in the store, she acts like she is 4months old...too cute!

That baby bird vocalisation sounds similar to one of my lorikeets when she's hungry. I'm trying to get them both to lose weight, which is really hard when she does a crying kind of a sound with a desperation tone to it for hours & hours. It's very cute & sweet, but also hard to handle when I know she's crying for food :( Anyway, thanks for the video, was interesting. I have 2 adult lorikeets, but with emotional issues from their former home & one does act what I think is very baby like, so this was interesting to watch & see if she really is (and she largely is)

I hope somebody responds :)
@bigolbettas41163 жыл бұрын
You could rehome them with a rehoming fee of 25 to 35ish dollars on online sites or even post something like lost dog papers but for rehoming them or sell them all for maybe try 300+ dollars for all the birds and the cages and toys.
@mehere80383 жыл бұрын
birds aren't toys! They're not something to buy & then just throw away & replace when you get bored of them! Maybe you can buy a farmville cockatiel or something instead of a real one - cheaper & more suitable for you if you want to just get rid of & replace when you get bored
@ilovebirdiesbirds54372 жыл бұрын
You need to be able to afford not just the bird, but the flight cage, the monthly toys, the fresh veggies and pellets and vet bills. You shouldn't just rehome your budgies just to get a cockatiel.

same :) This is what I was thinking with one of mine, so nice to hear I'm not alone in this. Mine was in a cage a few cms longer than her body for a decade & now has fused wings from not even being able to stretch them, which I think impacts her balance, but mostly she just doesn't have a clue what to do when she can't reach cage walls with her beak at all times, anywhere she is in the cage in the way she could for her whole life up until now. Mine even literally just falls off perches if she tries to grab something from below them & goes splat onto the ground. Kinda funny & cute to watch, but also sad. Mine won't ever be able to fly, but I'm dreaming that one day she might learn to jump :) Meanwhile she does lots of baby noises & motions to try to get attention & when I got her she was super submissive & baby like to everything, but now she's becoming a real bird & learning to assert herself if she doesn't like something, which is awesome :)
