8:30 that was my sole problem here. I used to say "....where/what/etc is it" because i thought it must be same as those question sentences. Now im used to use this correct usage.:)

I guess the most common mistake is with noun clauses... a lot of learners say "I don't know where is she". In fact they must ask themselves "I don't know what?". So this is a noun clause and you must just say "I don't know where she is".

I have a correction for you to consider. ‘I realise how important (English) grammar is.’ This is the Present tense of the verb. ‘I realised how important (English) grammar is.’ This is the Past tense of the verb. @sirmeowthelibrarycat4 жыл бұрын
Silvio Augusto Jr 😁 Hello, Silvio. Here are my answers to your question. 1. NO LONGER refers to time coming to an end. ‘ Dinosaurs NO LONGER live on Earth.’ 2. ANYMORE refers to something not happening again. ‘There are no dinosaurs ANYMORE on Earth.’ These words have quite similar meanings, so I am not surprised that you ask about them. Kind regards from a retired teacher of English in England 🏴.

Hey! I have a question. (Nothing to do with this lesson) Hay can I use "Desipte / Regardless / Regarding to" properly? I mean, I have an idea of their meaning, but it seems that I continue making mistakes when I use them.
@sirmeowthelibrarycat4 жыл бұрын
William Vásquez 😁 Hello, William. Here are my answers to your enquiry. 1. Despite. This is when you do something DESPITE having an obstacle in the way. ‘I arrived at the office in time DESPITE waiting two hours for a taxi at the airport.’ 2. Regardless. This is when you take no notice of something as you proceed with an activity. ‘REGARDLESS of the queue at the taxi rank, I still arrived in time for my meeting.’ 3. Regarding to. This is not a proper use of English. Instead, use ‘referring to’ . ‘Referring to our previous meeting, did you find what you needed for your project?’ I hope I have helped you with your understanding of English with these answers. Kind regards from a retired teacher of English in England 🏴.

@@sirmeowthelibrarycat Well, kind of. I understood number 1 and 3, but number 2, is still difficult. For example, if I wanted to use it in my original comment would it be ok if I say: "I continue making mistakes REGARDLESS I have an idea of their meaning?

Can I ask? Are sentences, "I used to play guitar" and "I used to play THE guitar," the same?
@InteractiveEng4 жыл бұрын
Yes. The omission of "the" is something that Americans tend to do when talking about instruments. 👍
@TheRichExplorer4 жыл бұрын
@@InteractiveEng Can I ask one more question? A friend of mine told me (according to her 'source') that "What sports do you like?" is more appropriate than "What sport do you like?" when talking about someone's likes (in general), and it is more formal than the latter. Is that true? Never heard of this, so I kind of beg to disagree. I learned that in BrE sport is uncountable and in AmE it is treated as a plural noun. Also as singular, it solicits at least one kind of sport. Thank you.

@evanioviana26304 жыл бұрын
Hey, Wes, why didn't you use I used to play THE guitar?
@InteractiveEng4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I think this is more related to American English because both forms are accepted. I think in British English "the" is certainly more acceptable. But when talking about instruments, they often get pushed into non-count territory for some reason. (I play piano. / I play drums.) 👍
