My husband gave me an E310 for Christmas yesterday. So excited to make my first smoothie this morning and OMG what a disaster. I thought the motor was dying and it kept stopping! Terrible consistancy and watery. I found this video and realized I was being too tentative with turning it all the way up and in using the tamper. Picked out a few recipes off the Vitamix site, hit the grocery store and started over. Made some sundried tomato hummus and some sweet potato soup following each recipe to the letter and let it do its thing at full throttle. They came out perfect! Smoothie attempt #2 in the morning! I got the a2500 3 years ago but I rarely use it. It seems to overheat very easily. I even sent it back once and vita mix said it was ok. I made hummus yesterday and after 1 minute it started to smell like it was heating up and turned itself off with an error code. I had liquid in the hummus and 1 minute doesn’t seem like very long to over heat?

Thanks for your tips! Sometimes I make a shake with the 350i, that doesnt contain any other ingredients than some protein powder, water and ice cubes. Regarding the loading order: since there is no fruits or greens, should I still put the ice cubes in right from the start or will it be too heavy on the blades and should I rather start it up and add the ice cubes once it reaches a higher speed? Great vids. I subbed. I visited a good friend a week ago. He had this loud turbo fan going that made it hard to think. Told me it was his fancy blender. I said, “Nah…” until he served me some tomato soup. I have had dreams about that soup for a week! Started pricing Vitamix blenders and passed out from sticker shock. I wanted one, but couldn’t swing the money right now. Then, Prime Day hit and I saw a Propel 750 under $400. I had to buy it! I did an unboxing vid I’m about to upload and made the tomato soup. Didn’t turn out the same, but I see the potential. It’s loud, but not as loud as his!

If it shuts off making nut butters, just shut it off for a few minutes and it will start working again when it is cool again. It auto shuts off to prevent damage to the internals from heat.

I broke my mom's blender trying to make peanutbutter, and I had to buy another. I found this brand does them the better of all the others and got it. Just got it in on the day of writing this, and I made a simple smoothie first. Then went in for the peanut butter! It worked great! Don't forget you want to clean after every use, not just rinsing, as that can leave some food particles. Do what it suggests and get warm water with a drop of soap in it. Then leave it to do its thing for a minute. Rinse out done!

I use my Vitamix with blending warm boiled carrots I cooled down the broth but it was still warm when I put it in the Vitamix blended it up to make baby food and now the baby food tastes like plastic is this normal? Was it because the water was too warm?

@lifeisnoke when making nice cream, what if your tamper doesn’t reach the ingredients? Do you have to add enough frozen fruit so that it can reach the tamper? All the ingredients fly around when i use the frozen dessert setting. :/

Fired up my first attempt at ice cream in the A3500 with a cup of strawberries and a cup of bananas(all frozen) I was so worried because the blender had this metallic smell in the air but I kept at it with the tamper and it pulled through. So far so good. I am guessing that almost burn like metallic smell in the air is that new blender smell?

On thanksgiving we used ours to blend stringy sweet potato casserole and it started shaking violently. We both freaked out and thought it was broken and haven’t used it since.... could it just be the consistency was too thick?

Hard to say for sure. Try running a cleaning cycle first, and if everything's ok, go back to your regularly-scheduled blending activities (just mind loading order and ratio)
