Number 6 is throwing it when your opponent is looking - Charlie Zelenoff
@MMAMomentousАй бұрын
4:51 This is not an overhand right. You are teaching people the wrong way. This is basically almost a hook, the way you throw it. You throw an overhand right towards your left knee (From high to low). Plus twist your hand more to land with the first two knuckles on your hand (knuckles from Index finger and middle finger).

This is my story of my past. Alot of people may judge me, but i want the world to know. All the difficult and hard challenges i had to overcome. To get my mind in the right state to live my life. I came from parents who didnt really care about themselves, so they didnt really care about there kids. My whole childhood before me and my 3 sisters went to Child Protective Services, we would live in hotels and tents. The longest we ever stayed in a house or apartment was 1 year out of 10 years. We were on the Dallas Morning Star for being the poorest family in Dallas, i was on the front page on my step-fathers shoulders. My parents forced me on medication at 3 years old, because they were too busy on crack and cocaine to take care of me. Then my life was really hard for those next 7 years. When i was 10, my 3 little sisters and me were taken by Child Protective Services. When we were taken i didnt know what was going on i was mad, frustrated, and confused. They took me to a placement in Dallas, Buckner Childrens Home i was there for maybe a month. That whole month i was so mad, i wanted to see my mom and understand what was happening. I was a 70lbs boy and got thrown down by a 250lbs grown man because i wouldnt listen to them. These staff members are just paid to do there jobs they dont care about any of these kids in these placements, remeber what i just said. That was just the first month i was in Child Protective Services, i was there 8 more years that was only the beginning. The whole first year they moved me from boys homes to mental hospitals, then to a boys & girls home in Houston, TX. Now at the boys & girls home something happened to me that would mentally mess with me for a long time. I was sexually molested by people that were there. The reason why im telling you this is because people dont really pay attention to whats happening at these boys homes. Now remember this was only 1 year in CPS, i was already thrown down every day about 4 times a day because i was "out of control". A 70lbs boy with bruises all over him and his face because a staff member threw him down on concrete. If they tell you to do something and you dont listen they can say you were out of control on paper work and do whatever they want to you because there are no cameras in the homes. Now that was just the first year in CPS. I will give part 2 of my story later on, i plan to write a book so the world can know whag happened in CPS those 7 years but that book would be 100 pages. The point of this story is to get the word out how kids are abused in the system.

Question: Does anger help in a fight? If you're stressed or feel angry, you have that adrenaline pumping, and it increases ur heart rate and blood flow to ur muscles and brain so wouldn't that mean being angry kinda helps you to react better in a fight? So why do people say anger clouds the mind and that you should always stay calm in a fight?
@inspireddestiny66375 жыл бұрын
Anger will make you fight with emotions and feelings rather than your head and intelligence. Anger might make you feel invincible, but you could get reckless which results in exposed defence, and exposed defence is no good.
@chaelsonnen96655 жыл бұрын
There’s a difference between aggression and anger, you should always fight confident and aggressive, never angry, it messes up your ability to gameplan and also your ability to make changes on the fly
@skip741x35 жыл бұрын
What the other commenters have said ,is spot on...Anger Clouds the mind, Slows the reactions and prevents that Clear Calm thats necessary to be able to See whats going on and react to it optimally...You need to be in that calm composed space to have that ability ...When you are lost in thought, you will never be at ur best...Your mind needs to be fully present, aware calm and still while ur body acts and reacts from that state of relaxed mental composure....anger will actually Put both you and ur opponent in danger by keeping you from being fully present, it makes you reckless and ultimately lead to injury and a very Non productive sparring session...Watch almost Any beginner sparring and you will see anger in the ring..watch any really experienced fighter and you will see calm and composure under pressure...they are Not getting angry when they get hit and they are able to respond and react optimally ,with grace and precision.. Get ur head clear before you spar and dont bring that energy into the ring...

If someone isn't doing it right; I've learned from experience in sparring u can actually use a old school Irish like boxers stance arms extended way way out, to prevent any headshots, it then turns into for arm to for arm contact only. I wouldn't know this without experience, otherwise I'd sound really dumb.

The overhand right is moving downwards and follows the same trajectory as say, an arm throwing a baseball. The straight right follows a horizontal line and is a much faster punch.
@pendayho14975 жыл бұрын
Srijan Agrawal Yup also to add on what Rose said, overhands rights can be tricky to slip at times, if you have a very looper overhand right puncher it’s not the best to slip his punch to the outside as you’ll run into the overhand right, one of the best defenses is weaving under, the phone guard or you can step back
@brandonholt5525 жыл бұрын
Can’t imagine a man like you using the over hand right, off a injury like frozen shoulder, you’d have to know how strained and tight you are, and far from being anything loose

I was wondering if you have any guidance for someone wanting to get into boxing; I am 30 years old, 375 pounds last measured with 37% body fat 6’2” height and was an American football player in high school. This should be a very obvious answer. Boxers train punches every day to be short and compact and fast. MMA Fighters train everything and don’t get really a moment all the time to emphasize on their boxing.
