This ending is a classic "prisoner's dilemma", from a strategic game mindset it's more interesting because the stakes are higher. But since all their focus is on who has the best sob story, maybe peer voting works better.

@@richardcjlin It wasn't really the prisoner's dilemma because if BOTH couples decided to NOT move a brick (be selfless), it would've been a tie again and no one would've won anything. One couple has to be selfish and move, and the other has to be selfless and stay, thats literally the only way they would've walked away with money, so it was even trickier than the usual prisoner's dilemma. Honestly, the only way they could've won this situation was to agree in those 30 seconds they had on what to do so at least one couple got the money.

They weren’t greedy and selfish, they just understood that they could get more use out of $1,000 than the entire group could get out of $200. I know both amounts are not much money in California but regardless, the $1,000 would serve their immediate needs more effectively. Splitting the money would’ve defeated the purpose of the game anyway. I do think it’s really unfortunate and kinda fucked up that no one got any money tho :(

That's what happens when you get greedy. Wonder if they learned that lesson. Sometimes it's best not to gamble. I mean yeah, they could have been lying when they said they wanted everyone to leave with something, but they seemed genuine, and given these specific circumstances/where they are, I would have believed them. Leaving with a little bit is better than the risk of leaving with nothing. But... at least they didn't leave with less (other than any gas they used, or time off work they may have had to take).

It would be cool if you had two groups playing at the same time, with one group playing amongst themselves, while the other group watches the first group and plays off them. Kinda like a one-way mirror and the first group doesn't know there's a second group until everybody finishes. Maybe that would help with the sob stories and the second group really decides who deserves it.

Although I understand the one couple in the final may have needed it a little more, that’s what happens when people try to be “selfish” (I don’t mean selfish in its typical definition, cause they weren’t being selfish…they just thought they needed it more which $1000 would go further than splitting…I get that) but each team clearly was going to vote themselves. If they woulda allowed the one couple to split it they all woulda walked away with SOMETHING, unfortunately no one got anything, but at the end of the day no one was guaranteed anything & it wasn’t their money to begin with. The majority of people in the world could use extra money, whose to say anyones story is more deserving when we have all been through something in our lives …. 🤷🏼‍♀️

To my knowledge, they knew that if they went to another tie breaker no one will get the money - so why did they vote for themselves again? It just felt like Abe and Francisco was comparing their problems to everyone else and saying their problems were worse,, which,,, idk,, rubs me off the wrong way

If this were my game show, we would follow by the rule to give the winning couple $1000. By the end of the game, those rules don't apply anymore, I would give every couple a thousand dollars just because everyone struggles. A Channel like this can do so much philanthropy to helping its participants on screen, it's insane. Not for every challenge as that might be too predictable that everyone is going to win something, but a surprise generosity in a video would definitely be lovely to see once in a while.
