As someone with an eating disorder I could never say thank you enough for these videos. They have really helped alter how I think about food, just by watching your healthy relationship with meals and family time surrounding eating. thank youx100000 you’re my favorite for so many reasons but how you show meals and food has been a massive help in my recovery, and I don’t think I would be where I am now without you❣️

Sometimes I wonder if this weekly shopping and using up what's in the pantry mischmasch dinners is a European thing. BECAUSE. I was born and raised in Germany by Polish Parents and I am THE MASTER of making delicious meals even when there is "Nothing" in the house. I don't cook with recipes so when people ask me what I am cooking especially during the time where its time to get groceries again I answer with food because I don't even know what I am making. But my husband or MIL (both born and raised in the US) struggle so much with using up what's in the pantry. So now I am really wondering. 🤔
@MelissaThompson4325 жыл бұрын
I think it's just the fact that Americans have gotten used to either prepackaged or "formula" foods (made according to plan, not "baby food"...) and if they don't have a meal plan with a recipe and suggestions for sides they're confused. I'm a US Southerner whose parents grew up in the Depression, and I rarely ate packaged food growing up (granted, I am older than Grace's parents.) If you learn from people who had to be creative or go hungry, you end up more flexible about food combinations. Plus it helps if you have a stockpile of basics and plenty of seasonings. And working from a base, like Grace's pasta and Chloe's rice: it changes from "this is what we had," to "this is a savory rice dish." Or from "we had pasta shells, mince, and tomatoes," to "Pasta Bolognese."
