As a viewer who supports a somewhat plant based diet and vegan lifestyle, I'm glad hunters like these express their ethics and views to which I fully support. Thats the problem with most vegans today is that they criticize and attack those who do not share the same beliefs even if youre eating ethically sourced food. This is the most ethical way to hunt in my opinion and I fully support it. All this over proccessed food from not just fast food but also grocery stores and large corporations is what ruins peoples health in this day and age. These guys not only enjoy what they do but also protect and preserve the ecosystem around them while also honoring the life of the game in which they hunt, nothing but respect from me. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us Xander!

I would say there's no ethical way to murder something. the reasoning I heard in this video is that it's an invasive species, there are many ways to prevent it from damaging the ecosystem that don't involve causing it pain or dismissing its autonomy as a sentient being. I also heard that there's a justification in general to kill certain animals because it's a source of protein? there are many sources of protein, that's such a cop out. there's no ethical justification for hunting. does it make you a bad person? in my opinion, no but I wish people would stop deluding themselves into thinking they are not needlessly killing a sentient being. I'm sure this'll get tons of thumbs down lol but oh well
@curedubs2 жыл бұрын
@@tintintin070 I hear you and I agree with some of what you're saying. Murder is by no means ethical sure but the practice of hunting is something we humans have done for most of our existence and along the way there have been means of honoring the soul/spirit/sentient being for supplying its sustenance. That's a very cliche reason but still I wouldnt rule out all hunting in general as being murderous or that all hunters aren't conscious of the life they are taking to provide for them. Again, as long as its the most painless and least agonizing way, that would be ethical hunting but letting an animal suffer is just cruel. And yeah, I love eating nuts for my protein haha

What an awesome experience. Clay and Benji are the perfect embodiment of what a hunter should be in my opinion. I hope this has made you catch the bug for hunting. 4:18- asks "how can I help" this is the most underrated backwoods tip. Always ask how you can make lighter work, help by gathering firewood, get water and start itn on a boil etc....or just ask. It makes so much less work for your host and they will appreciate it so much! I also camp with sometimes novice folks, it doesnt bother me but i always delegate tasks to them so they are pulling their own weight and I am not doing everything fpr everybody. also teaches what is required to make a fire. Standing dead wood. Not green wood etc. You have to teach people that stuff at first. Not everybody started out in sasquach mode. Love the video. Great editing. Itchin for my next trip.

I completely agree with this and those bush meals looked amazing!! Before I married my husband, I was so ignorant, only eating meat from the grocery store. He harvest's our meat and opened my eyes to about how much more ethical and healthy it is. Just like growing our own veggies and fruits, he's works hard to bring protein to the table. And a deer's backstrap, most delicious meat ever!!

That was cool! I think you captured an essence of something that is very misunderstood. Hunting is very primal, connected and so much of what our ancestry was, is, used to be. It is not at all what it is often portrayed as or has sometimes become...more, bigger, faster, trophy, bragging rights. I know the black hog, the one you couldn't take a shot at, made your heart pound like never before. Life, survival, maybe they weren't on the line but you touched something that reminded you of a time when they were on the line. All the best Xander, thanks for bringing me along.
