Believe it or not Maha, i started learning arabic with you, just listening to your vids and keeping notes. This was for like less than one year. After that i entered an arabic class and the teacher asked me if i have arabic origins (lol). I just want to thank you for your amazing, helpful and so much inspiring work. Thank you for keep doing this, teaching through youtube and for free. You are such a good teacher really, you make everything so understandable. Now i continue learning arabic fusha but in classroom this time (cuz i became lazier and need someone to push me :-p) I hope i will get to learn colloquial somehow. So a small request if you also please, colloquial arabic! I loved that in this vid you used ROUH instead of THAAHEB, even accidently :) i would like to have more of that if its ok, although i know you already have vids with colloquial language. I think colloquial is more practical, and arab people wont laugh at me anymore when i use the fusha when talking to them (this happened too, lol) Yallah bye habibti

Wow that is so crazy how much the Moor era affected the Spanish language and how we use a version for " 'an ethenko" to say goodbye. We use "con permiso" (literally "with permission", implying "your permission") and it even made it all the way to Mexico 🇲🇽. Btw, it can be used for goodbye or for "excuse me" as well.

In Spanish we use "con permiso" as a way to say "goodbye" or "excuse me". Could have been taken from Arabic or from the custom to ask nobles for permission to leave : "with your leave". Either way, it's interesting.
