@kedabhairocks9 жыл бұрын
Never self harm yourself. It's not worth it. Go sit right under a fan , take a deep breath and slowly recite your name ,don't recite it fast , do it as slowly as you can while feeling the vibrations of your vocal chords. I say the word OM and it helps.

@ellaxoxo63848 жыл бұрын
This has happened to me before. You should NEVER self harm. Sorry if that sounded harsh but a few years ago i did and i was rushed into hospital and nearly died. I know it feels like you are just letting all the stress escape your body but you need to talk to someone. Trust me, it really helps. I'm 16 now and my anxiety has got a lot better but when i was about 14 thats when I started self harming. I kept things bottled up and i started having panic attacks nearly every other day, doubting if my friends liked me or if my boyfriend still loved m, stupid things like that... Basically my main message is to talk to someone. Xx

Ive been dealing with Anxiety since January of 2020. Ever since my first ever panic attack, I havent felt even close to the same. I feel like a literal different person now and everyday I feel like Im losing my mind. My main trigger is my memory. Ill start to forget things and I immediately jump to the conclusion that I have dementia or some sort of severe mental illness. The more anxious I get. The more I start to forget. Ill start testing myself and trying to remember certain events and then I cant even remember those. I struggled in school and failed out of every class of my fall semester because I was too afraid to even leave my bed. The only time I can feel comfort is when Im asleep and I know thats bad. Im trying to distract myself from it now and Im starting to learn that its okay. Its awesome reading all of the comments and understanding that there’s other people out there dealing with similar issues. I believe we’ll all find ourselves again soon and I have hope for us❤️

I find telling at least one person how you are feeling helps reduce my anxiety if I'm out. My anxiety thrives on ppl not finding out I'm having a panic attack. Cos I dont want to ruin other ppls times. But if u tell one person it reduces it slightly and u don't feel so isolated and alone and someone knows what your struggling with & it takes the edge off sometimes. But it doesn't always work!! It has to be someone u trust and feel comfortable with or it could have the opposite effect. Thanks for yr video kati, very helpful xxxxx

I feel anxiety in my heart and lungs so it helps a lot to do breathing exercises and focus on that area. I also like to drink hot tea which I find really soothing (especially green tea or chamomile) because breathing the steam is really relaxing and the warmth gives you something to focus on. What do you do when you're unable to leave the house and are stuck with your thoughts? I try watching funny shows/ videos and listening to music really loud but I find I don't have the motivation to do many productive things. I've been trying out mindfulness meditation as well. I am working hard to make things better, especially with my emotional state but sometimes I feel them getting worse.. I take medicine, now. Not sure how much it is helping. Anyway, really helpful video.

Thank you to all of you that are dealing with this and making an effort to connect with others. wow, does life ever suck sometimes. I'm 48 years old and after having gone through a major life change and being completely removed from my comfort zone, I am experiencing horrible panic and anxiety. I feel like such an idiot sometimes and part of me thinks I should be better and stronger, which, of course, makes the anxiety worse. I have to let go of my suffering, I know that but I am one of those people that wants to go it alone. It doesn't work. I need to trust that other people care about me. My resistance to the loving nature of others is a big problem. Thank you to those of you working through it and sharing your experience.

I dropped out of 5 therapists so far in the past 2 years, neither of them seemed to believe I had a problem. for some time I thought that's it, no help for me, I'll get by how I can by myself. but Kati, your videos and empathy, the way to talk to us give so much hope to me, a lot of your advice actually work on me and it makes me feel a little stronger. even though I'm not your patient, sometimes I feel you understand my issues much more than either of my ex-therapists. I often say to my clients who have anxiety (and depression) BP!! Breathing and posture. Changing your posture alone will ALWAYS change your psychological state-period! Standing in an upright position, and maintaining that position (victory pose) with your chin UP for at least two minutes WILL calm you down, it's fail proof. Combined with the correct breathing you will be in complete control again. The trick is to REMEMBER to do it which may take some practice. Yes, it's that simple. Your physiology will always override your psychology, this is a proven fact. Best wishes

Distraction is definitely a key element for me dealing with it in my past and then I was inside the house alot, not going out afraid of being alone getting bad attacks, feeling alone outside of my phone calling people. Then got a job for a few years after years of being out of work, did much better with distraction then quit due to changes in management and stress had some opportunities then the virus hit and everything closed or let people go and it came back my own mind played tricks on me and made it worse. Meds help but I don't want to be relying on just them. So came back my anxiety hard this year because of Corona but I have to force myself to go out more. I must battle it, but will try new things like talking to someone never did that before. I always talk to my friends but I feel bad bothering them even though I know one always says to call and when he can he calls back. But yeah living with anxiety is not fun. This chick is one of the few vids to give logical advice imo compared to so many others that aren't helpful on here. However what may work for some won't work on all so maybe other videos help other people. For me most havent sadly but this is very similar advice to what my counselor told me recently.

Nothing bad has happened to trigger just my mind as usual overthinking again ... I have been a little stressed and I find a little walking helpful but then I fear when I get home it's Gona kick off again. So now Kati I have developed a fear of coming home 🙈😩 I work from home so I feel in a bad situation

Gr8 video :) I went into the town by my self which I thought I could handle sooooooooo very wrong I began to panic and tears filled my eyes as my stomach started churning I sat down whilst waiting for my prescription and i text my mom who told me to phone her. It calmed me down a lot to my suprise, enough so I could get my medication and get home. I felt like I was just going to curl up into a ball and cry (which would have been worse than the anxiety ) I'm so freaking scared of how I'm going to cope at university. ***** xoxox

I knkw you can cope! I've been living away from home for 2 years now to study. It has made my anxiety better to be honest! Don't set yourself up to fail.. Just plan out how you can distract yourself when necessary. I also find doing something relaxing for 10 minutes every morning sets my day up :)

Thanks :) I'm really looking forward to getting back to university but also very scared of making a fool out of myself. I had bad anxiety at my last university and ended up crying in the toilets as it was crippling. I hope I can cope better xox

I have anxiety all the time, with me I have no peace moment, I feel like I'm losing my mind little by little and like I can't do something else but to focus on it more and more, I tried exercise, I tried medication, (even for psychosis) and it doesn't help, does someone know if that can cause a person to lose their mind? because mine is really bad, I swear I can't take it anymore, any comment... I would really appreciate it....

+mireya Luna I had anxiety for the past 8 months. Mainly I felt it in my throat. Things DO get better. A lot better. Have a positive attitude and give your brain and body time to recover, just like you would treat a broken bone! Keep track of progress and improvement as you go along. That helped me stay hopeful and confident. Do your best to recognize that everything was the same before you had this problem and could be that way again because nothing has changed but your outlook and your body's response your stresses. Your body needs time to recover. Just give it time and have as good of a positive attitude as you can. Try to facilitate the best possible environment for your recovery, mental and physical. If you're not mentally ready to recover yet then just be patient with yourself and slowly you will return to normal. Stay hopeful and confident. In time you will give up the things that give you anxiety and your body will recover in suit. Love yourself as best you can. Anxiety is normal even if it is unwanted. You don't deserve any anxiety. :) What helped me a lot too is not isolating myself when I started to recover. When you're ready to talk to others just in a friendly way about things that are fun you will instantly recover. The more you do it when you feel up to it the better you will get. At first I'd say just do whatever you need to do to calm yourself so you can recover and be at peace, and not anxious. Also taking walks helped me a lot and getting some fresh air. I also liked to eat Lifesaver candies, I did a lot of harm to my teeth but it was a fun magical dance of fruit in my mouth and it reminded me to not take life too seriously. It also distracted me. Try not to think too much about it and stay focused on your goals. Don't get frustrated with how fast you're going, like I said it took me 8 months and I still have some bit to recover but it's 98% better. Don't get frustrated! Don't feel guilty! Your sickness is normal and expected. It will take time and it does get better, your mind will come back to it's natural state. Always stay on top of when you are getting better and don't be complacent with yourself. Challenge yourself to be normal, the way you want to, and eventually you will reach your center once again, once your body and mind change. Charlie Hoehn How I Cured My Anxiety ^check that out Trust Us: Alan Watts - Let's Play The Game.mp4 ^check that out too Bashar - impatience/anxiousness :) ^check that out as well I humbly thank you for being the God you are and I want you to be happy because you are one of a kind, like everything is in the universe.

thank you for your comment, one big question: what kind of relaxation techniques did you used? I tried everyone and it doesn't do anything, it just makes me more anxious and more obsessed with the idea of getting better, which ones worked for you; I'm talking like about breathing and things like that, wich ones did you used? thank you so much for yolur answer :)

+mireya Luna Play gets rid of anxiety. Knowing that worrying or feeling bad doesn't help anyone or change anything so it's pointless. :P Going for a walk if you're up to it and looking at the sky and the trees and the houses. I would eat Lifesavers for fun and to distract myself. Raisins and organic corn chips with salsa. Honey. Honey BBQ chips. Eggs in the morning. Candy Canes. Bananas. Bacon. Eating things I enjoy. :) And time and forgetting. You don't deserve anxiety and you will get better. Charlie Hoehn: How I Cured My Anxiety. Look that up.

Riston Alaimo oh ok I didn't see that part haha, well thank you so much, I'm a little bit on the obsessive side so it's a little bit hard to get rid of my thoughts and feelings, I think and think until the thoughts in my head feel all over the place, but I will try to do those things you tell me, thank you so much :)

Reading these comments make me feel enlightened. Also, having someone to share your deepest secrets with is a bliss. Of course, provided that he or she will support you in every way. That selfless support is very important. I think if there is anyone who will at least tell you that whatever you did, was the right thing to do. Even if it's a socially awkward thing. Or somewhat morally incorrect. But it helps you tackle your anxiety. Of course, if it's a bad thing s/he will tell you not to repeat it but the initial and unconditional support is very important.

Great tips, especially number five, getting a leg up so you can reach a more steady state of mind can be so useful in recovery, it's like using a crutch or a plaster, it makes it easier to avoid things getting worse and more difficult to manage, like having to hop everywhere, or keep a cut away from anything that could dirty it. One thing that works for me when I need to reduce anxiety is being creative, focusing on creating a drawing, a sculpture or a narrative keeps my mind busy, even if it's something small and unimportant, where small mistakes that happen when I'm stressed don't matter, it's about the process calming me rather than the resulting piece being pleasing or perfect.

I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for so long I let it get so bad I have no other choice but to seek treatment. I think doing more of these things would help alongside treatment: - search for guided meditations on youtube and lay in your bed while listening to one. Doing this in the morning will start your day off less anxious. There may even be ones specifically for anxiety - Come up with a routine. Write in a journal the morning and night routine you'd like to adapt to. One that allows for self-care and more time for you to enjoy your morning and evening rather than stressing about the lack of time. Try it out and see what happens! - Always blast music when you are getting ready to go out/to work/school. This will definitely relieve some stress before you go somewhere you have anxiety about. - Try taking supplements. Pls do your research and don't use this as an alternative to treatment!! L-Theanine, L-Tyrosine, GABA, and 5-HTP are precursors to important happy chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. If you read reviews on Amazon for these supplements you'll see many people have claimed these help tremendously with their anxiety and depression. - Another thing people use is Passion Flower. You can find Passion Flower tea or just it ground up alone and make a tea out of it. It may help with anxiety. Be careful, it can interfere with other meds if you take any. - Go for walks with an mp3 playing your fave tunes. I can't stress this enough it's nice to breath fresh air and be active when you have a lot on your mind. - Write in a journal whenever you feel anxious, just to get those thoughts out. - Quit coffee. This is hard, but coffee can bring up stress levels and anxiety. It used to give me euphoria but sometimes the caffeine is not good for anxiety in the long run. - Look up funny vine vids on youtube. These kind of vids sometimes make me cry laughing, they've even helped stopped panic attacks because they completely get my mind off of irl things. - Talk to yourself. I used to do this a lot when I had the house to myself. I swear I'm not crazy. It felt good to complain out loud and get the words out without annoying people! - clean your room. My room is a visual representation of my mental state. Cleaning it makes me feel like I'm also decluttering my mind. - Buy some fucking ice cream. Idk this never failed to make me feel better in the moment. Lol.

1-4 are good suggestions. I would argue #5 is contributing to many people's ailments. There is a freedom in eliminating pharma drugs and many people get much healthier when this "crutch" is removed.

Breathing exercises really work for me, especially focusing on my stomach as that is where I always feel anxiety. Also writing my thoughts down helps, if anything it distracts you from the physical feeling and gets the thoughts out of your head. When my anxiety was really bad though I was Propanolol and it was amazing.

Hi,I was a victim of anxiety for about 5 years and I am not anymore. I beat my anxiety with deep breathing exercises, positive thoughts and spiritual music. Whenever I would feel it starting to come on I would start my breathing exercises right there and then. Even now if I start feeling overwhelmed I would do my breathing, I hope this little information I shared would help someone. Take care and remember someone out there loves YOU 💖

I hate to be negative, but personally I don't agree with much of this advice, on the fact that it seems to be about avoiding dealing with the feeling. I don't want to have five people who I can burden with my problems at all times, because nobody wants to listen to someone rant about their own shit. I agree that keeping busy is something that is very important for the anxious (ie. hyperactive) mind to pursue. But what about if you wake up on a day off, with zero plans, and the anxiety hits you like a tsunami. The only way out is to deal with the feeling head on, as best as you can. At which point, these tips don't do much :(
@littlemissfitxo8 жыл бұрын
That "Nobody wants to someone rant about their own shit" is your anxiety talking. People who care for you do not mind listening to you. Ever. Especially if you need them.

Usually if I am feeling anxious or am trying not to have a panic attack before things such as going to work or school, I will try to picture or imagine what the end of the day will be like when I get back home and have survived the day. This is sometimes the only way I am able to reassure myself enough to leave the house. I also like to chew gum or listen to music loudly to drown out the task that I have to do or the thoughts of where I have to go. If I'm not thinking about it, it's not happening and i'm not feeling so anxious.
