I think this is a very practical car. It can be driven north to Malaysia without being worried of running out of petrol and couldn't find a petrol station.

Hey guys, for the Kicks e-POWER's fuel consumption, what Julian meant was the car has a fuel consumption of 4.6 litres per 100km and not 4.6 km/l. Which is much better than a regular petrol car which does 8-ish litres per 100km -Jon

Looks very nice. A big plus point full LED front/rear lights even the turn signals! Expensive makes should learn from Nissan how to package a car and make is look nice and less expensive. In my opinion, if you're getting this as your very first car or even a spare car just go for it. Keep it up nissan!

I would prefer more details on specifications, eg. Battery size (kWh), battery management, eg. cooling system, curb weight of the car, 0 to 100 km timing. BMW i3 REX was the first vehicle with similar design but it was too expensive. What about the price for the Nissan.

So how to e-brake if only one pedal?
@BeresVonSaladir3 жыл бұрын
It has two pedals. There is a mode where it behave like normal cars, and modes where it brakes automatically when the driver's foot is off the pedal. The brake pedal is still needed for emergency braking even in those modes.

E- cars are only practical within Singapore as long as charging points are abundant. But as a rational buying decision, I will still buy petrol powered cars as buying a car also gives me the freedom to drive in to Malaysia, where charging stations may be none, at most places. So, petrol or diesel cars are still the way for buyers.

This is not an electric car. It uses the petrol engine to charge the battery which drives the car. Similar to an hybrid car but driven 100% by battery

@@theredbaron7302 This is a 100% EV with a power generating engine to produce electricity by itself.
@theredbaron73023 жыл бұрын
@@Xunxunism you can say that yes, you can also say that this is a gasoline engine powered vehicle that instead of using an hydraulic torque converter it uses an electric one. The above layouts are identical where the first one delivers power through fluid while the second one uses electricity. Saying that this vehicle has ev like propulsion is definitely not true because it lacks many defined ev characteristics like on tap acceleration. On top of that Toyota/Daihatsu have introduced a similar layout for Raize/Rocky and had them wltc tested. The results are far worse as expected when compared to their power split planetary gear system which is a little more expensive but has much more potential.
@ianp38763 жыл бұрын
@@theredbaron7302 Actually it does have a dedicated ev mode for silent motion,for example in the dead of night returning to your neighborhood. Furthermore,The ICE engine it uses has no mechanical connection what so ever to the drive wheels. Instead, the engine is connected to a generator,.It sends electricity to either the battery or invertor(whichever is most in need of power)The inverter then decides how much current to send to the electric motor connecting the drive shafts and thus wheels. A torque converter on the other hand is bolted directly to the engine flywheel. Hydraulic fluid causes the pressure plates to become engaged and move the wheels via the gearbox,all from the flywheels revolutions.

Wah nothing mentioned on the rear seats and boot. That don't make this a review. More like a paid ad. does this car have a drive shaft? Is the engine connected to the drive wheels? If it does, then is actually a hybrid right? The 1 pedal drive should be demonstrated to see how it works and how effective it is. Are all these demonstrated in the Serena video? I will head over to have a look though that genre of car don't interest me. Just looks alone the Serena belongs to the group of cars that only its mother will like. Aka Sanyong MPV, Mazada Biante etc....hahahah

You do the same mistake here. The ice wont charge nothing. Get your facts right. This is not a range extender system. There are two motors (mg1-mg2) one connected to the engine and the other drives the wheels. Mg2 is called also traction motor because that is the one that drives the wheels. The engine rotates the mg1 which in turn rotates the mg2. Any speed rotation difference between the two motors creates current and the energy is stored to a battery. The battery can also power mg2 and move the vehicle. Thank me later.
@mybenchchannel60824 жыл бұрын
you are so wrong, where do you get that story from? See nissan's explanation video!
@theredbaron73024 жыл бұрын
@@mybenchchannel6082 Nissans marketing is trying hard. The are lying about many things, you dont have instant acceleration like an ev, the ice has to rev up first. My facts come from basic engineering knowledge, Nissans system operates exactly like Honda's without the high speed fixed ratio, it is simpler and cheaper. The power a 2kwh battery can produce is something like 30hp maximum? and not for a long distance, it would be impossible for this battery to propel the vehicle at speed, and even worst if this battery was charged by the 100hp ice would overheat and burn half an hour later. Learn about how these systems work and you will understand my point. The battery is there as a buffer zone working like a slushbox torque converter.
