I finally won this game after about six failed attempts, lol. My advice for strategy is that civics seems to be king - you'll always want more of it. Anything you can make or do that produces it is worth rushing. Also wood. Annoyingly hard to get early on until you manage to stumble toward forestry, there will be global wood shortages for the early part of the game. When you can, choose 'chop wood' with your workers over forests early on, as they will grow back and you will definitely need the wood. Some of the systems take a while to make sense, but are actually quite deep once you understand how it works. For example, early on I am pumping all my efforts into growing up my cities, so I am not building many (any?) military units. It took me a while to understand why I was always swimming in training points as a result (not building the units means all my cities' training was pooling globally) and once I learned to dump all those points onto the units I had to push them up the promotion tree I was able to become and effective military power in the early game. Overall, a nice, fun game that I will definitely be replaying as the updates come out.

Yeah I have played twice have started wondering why getting points for laws is so hard! I didn't realise how much civics matter.

for wood i just send workers outside of my borders & u can just have them chop trees & they can even do it quite far from ur cities for a good amount of wood if you havent tried it i usually keep the forests inside my borders to make lumbermills

You see I've got Epic installed to pick up free games, but I just like the store set up and ease of use for Steam. I don't use Origin or Uplay either, the stores anyway. I've got a stupid long Steam library and if I get something in another store I am unlikely to play it when I go "okay what game am I playing today?" just because the list is spread over multiple interfaces. Add in my Xbox, my PlayStation, my Switch, My Hacked Wii U, my 3DS, unless its got an exclusive that seems worthy of extending my backlog I would rather wait to be able to own it on Steam. I don't refuse to purchase from Epic, I just haven't found any Epic exclusive worth buying when I think, well, in a year or so I can get it on Steam. Borderlands 3 was something I wanted, but I waited and now it's on Steam. I don't buy things brand new anyway unless its a multiplayer I'm looking to get into and I'm worried about the life of the game expiring. @@GodlikeGamersz The option that is most profitable for them. I don't blame them, that is how business goes. But i am under no illusion that it is worse for me as a potential costumer.

i personally prefer civ games because there's just a different level of satisfaction starting with warriors, then rifleman and finally aircraft carriers, missile cruiser and nukes

One feature that Civilization has that is an automatic win - is that it's available on Steam!

So the game is on the Epic Games Store? That's great, i buy all my games from there.

Gotta ask, what's all the hate for the Epic game store?
@RepublicOfPlay4 жыл бұрын
They purchase exclusivity for games rather than improve their store and Tencent, a chinese company has shares in epic and China is a bad word to gamers.
@Xanthira2224 жыл бұрын
@@RepublicOfPlay Yet they also pull dead games off the scrap heap and assist them (like this game, it wouldn't exist without epic) and also allow Developers to keep a larger percentage of the profits.... sooooo.

100000 features in civ 6 not in old world next =p Game feels so bare and stale after 20 turns.

Well its is in super early access and this build is more a proof of concept and not representative of the final product.

@@Tubalcain422 Well he's saying he wants to pick only male leaders, so he doesn't want an Egyptian Queen for instance, or Dido of Carthage. So yeah, pretty odd.

@@RepublicOfPlay I want games with many options, that's what i'm essentially saying. I want to be able to pick only maps without any snow, would like to play only male characters and would like to with a big POV, fast animation ect. I've got some prefrences when it comes to my video game, and that's not "kinda weird", it's normal to have some prefrences when it comes to games.
