That is a common issue with the 722.9, and the 722.6 had the same acting issue from 2-1 on the V12s as well. Take it to the MB dealership and tell them to update the software. The new software helps a lot, plus reset the adaptation. Your style of driving vs someone else's never goes along. The tranny will adopt to your style of driving with the first 40 shifts!

Wrong? Mazda's wrap looks like Mercedes red. Without German auto technology japs still be making wheel barrows and bicycles instead of cars they had to copy German technology before WW2 during WW2 and post WW2. Before that time they made nothing but rice patties.

Did you see if MB has a software update for the transmission? Wife has a 2016 GLC and it would hesitate in 2nd gear when you came out of a turn. It was similar to what you are experiencing. MB came out with a transmission software update and it took care of the problem.

I bet ProClip makes a wireless phone charging mount for your car. They tend to mount in between dash trim pieces rather than directly on a vent. Could get it hard wired so there would be minimal eye sore from cables cluttering your interior cabin.

I actually have the S5 50 coupe 2016 I actually love the car just like you said one of my things I don’t like is the sunroof doesn’t go back. Number two remote start it’s an option when you first buy the car unless you want to keep the MB system and that’s a little expensive. I did put a valve exhaust on my car. I really enjoy it. The comfort is awesome but I do miss having a four-door S class for the backseat option, but this is by far my favorite Benz. I wish I could put it up and save itas a driver, not rich enough yet. Your car is absolutely beautiful! Every angle, the color, and the interior is just perfect. Roll with the quirks, man. Everyone else is lusting for this car! I have a 2003 CL600 twin turbo. I've had it for six years. I drove it 500 miles over the xmas holiday, and it is still the best car I have ever owned! The interior looks brand new, every feature still works (including the windshield washer). It will throw your toupee into the back seat when you goose it, and it is the epitome of THE grand cruiser. (My trunk will hold four golf bags, but I've never tried to golf) Thank you for the video.

As for the reflection of the vents...have you thought about carbon fiber covers for all the vents...maybe any chrome in there...to make it black and red? I don't know how just those 2 vents being black would look but that would most likely fix the reflection issue. I wish I had that car and those issues...lol. Sharp doesn't even come close to explaining how it looks in that red and that body style. I'm not big on the lowering, as where I live if it's that low it's rubbing like a "teenager's rice burner in a parking lot filled with raised speed breaks"...lol. Drives around here can wreck even standard stance cars like my wife's Camry...not my Silverado 6 inch lifted..lol. BUT, it's a good day every time I get to see that car. One of these days....... The reflection issue is really annoying, and I'd have to sell up on that basis! Here in the UK I have a daily, 2010 W204 Amg line. Its nothing like how you've described the S class. Which is crazy!

For the vent reflection issue have you tried rolling down the windows to see if still there? I only say this because you said it may be due to the tint.

I’m sure you’ve figured it out now but il post anyway since your content helped me a lot and in turn would love to help you. If your still using a Sony camera when you use the lav mic you have to turn the mic volume down on the camera overwise It sounds like this. I’m guessing you have the volume set at around 22 for when you use the internal mic. You might need to drop it as low as 10 when using the lav. I always do a test speaking watching the audio levels bar. You want to make sure it does not go into the orange and red zone. Hey I’m sure you know this already and probably just forgot to adjust the levels when recording this since I’ve done the exact same myself! Either way though wanted to share to help. Check and see if you have the latest transmission software. I had mine updated. Sports mode is much smoother and gained a mode called Agility. It’s between Sport and Economy. It also will not drop to 1st gear and winds the gears out higher before shifting.

Hi Mike - I had similar gearbox issues and cured it with a gearbox service - I oil degrades and can cause low speed issues

Totally agree on the mirror reflection.....this is very dangerous as a driver needs to be able to rely on what he or she sees in a split second. In the video the reflection looked massive. This needs to be addressed by the manufacturer.

Agree 100% on all points, although I do not mount my phone. Even the 9 speed has a tendency to jump when going very slow to almost stop, then pulling away. For me the big irritant is the golf clubs. I remove the driver and 3 wood. Never had to do that!!

I have a 2008 CL 63 AMG p30. The p30 package is a performance horsepower and transmission enhancement and I don’t have that problem with the transmission. Check to see if you can add that to your car. What is the color of your wrap? Beautiful color

I was going to mention the mic but you did it for me :). In future if you have to use external mic for whatever reason, maybe record your voice at home and put it in as voice over. Might not be perfect because of lip sync and all, but probably better than external mic.

I have a 2016 s63 coupe have the same issue with both the mirror and transmission. With the mirror I had 5% tint at time of purchase but switched to 15% ceramic, had to switch since I couldn’t see at night lol and haven’t had that issue since. In regards to the trans I thought something was wrong with the car but I figured that’s just how the transmission with the lag after pressing the pedal. Oh and idk if it applies to your car but my aux battery is in the trunk gotta remove everything even the sub and it’s on the right side behind the passenger, once you take everything out it’s right there not really that hard to remove or locate if you have the right tools.

lol for the transmission issue at 5:39 I have the 9G and it does the same thing. I barely noticed it because I drive the car in manual mode 90% of the time. I only put it in automatic if I'm pulling out on a 55mph road so I can get to 60 in the fun little 4 seconds. I know exactly what you're talking about though as a 2019 c43 amg owner. Also one huge thing I noticed is after getting a transmission service with new fluid my 1st to 2nd got significantly smoother. Maybe yours needs a fluid change. I love my car my only complaint is that I don't have air suspension and the ability to raise it during Winter when it snows.

Your trunk space issues is only a problem in these fully optioned/upper market cars that are outfitted with the Burmester High End 3-D surround sound system. The subwoofer and its housing occupy what is ordinarily a totally open space symmetrical to trunks right side. That soundsystem, when fully engaged in its 3-D setting with a new/clean CD (yes its a throwback... but trust) of either classical or a really nuanced piece of music will give you the best sound experience you've ever had... anywhere. A totally worthwhile sacrifice for a dirty old golf bag haha. Great car... love the red wrap... great call on that.

100% agree. I actually use my old CD collection in mine - CDs have a fidelity level far, far above what your Bluetooth phone is feeding the system. I have the Burmester High End 3-D system and have had other top systems (Levinson, B&O, Bose) and none come close to the Burmester High End.

I have a 2016 S550 coupe which the trunk space should be the same and I play a lot of golf. I take the "wood" clubs out of the bag and they fit nicely in the trunk by themselves out of the bag. You can also just set them inside of the car if needed. I agree that the trunk space is limited.

for VW or Audi I did a simple transmission reset and it fixed the shifting problems, maybe it can work here too!

My Honda's do the same thing you described about the transmission and the rolling stop. Also had an Infinity QX 60 that did the same thing the mechanic said at Infinity it is the computer that hasn't decided what gear to go in.

I have a 2006 dodge magnum rt with the 5.7 hemi. It has the mercedes 5 speed transmission and it does the same thing! The transmission sometimes doesn't know what to do and there is a delay when pedal goes to the floor but not always!

I'm curious if you have any rattle noise or dash rattles or door panels that rattle. I had my AMG in the dealership getting all this fabric tape installed on every panel it was a big problem with my car and with other Mercs and BMWs. Wonder if you or anyone here has had the same issues with an AMG. Beautiful car BTW that red is fire!!!

what your talking about around 6:00 with the transmission lagging, this happens on my 2009 SL550, V8 with the 7-speed transmission, when i come close to a stop and then i hit the gas it will pause and 2 seconds later it will kick down so violently that the car jumps forward even tho im not flooring it or anything like that.

The battery is directly behind the back seat on the left hand side that back panel is simple to get to, the two plastic pins pull out then slide the panel out.

I think the shifting problem is something that occurs in all the 7 speed vs 9 speed in the newer models that I’ve driven I haven’t had that issue.

Black out the vents and that may reduce the reflection, possible that your window tint is not good, good film should only reflect outside

U need a bmw m6, stunning looks, beautiful interior with better interior quality than Mercedes, sound system better than the e63 coupe, and an awesome engine with a 7 speed dct that is amazing. I used to own one but sold it for my m8 coupe, u should definitely look into the m6, they’re very cheap now

The side vents reflecting in the window is the same on my new SL. At night time, they are so apparent that it’s almost impossible to see outside.

You’re right! I have a CL and it’s a bit more roomier in terms of space than the S65. Plus my battery compartment is much more accessible in the trunk. Regardless the s65 is a beaut! From one v12 owner to another, there’s nothing quite like that feeling.

Lmao I have a base model 2008 Ford Focus with crank windows and even then it has folding 60/40 rear seats
