Thanks, ladies, for encouraging this missionary pastor’s wife! As for the fridge, my hubby banned non-see-through leftover containers years ago. We only have one grocery store in our small town (so their prices aren’t all that great), so we have to stock up on things when we go to a larger town an hour away. We do buy produce & perishables locally in between trips. I’m purging a little at a time, so it’s not overwhelming. Yesterday, I purged a bookshelf in my bedroom & found a treasure! It was a poem one of my sons had written in 2005, about me & my dog. That son is now married, an assistant pastor & they’re expecting their 4th child! Said dog left us last year after 16.5 yrs of loyalty & love. Yes, I cried when I found that poem! Thanks for all of your encouragement to get rid of the excess stuff in our lives! 😊❤️

What a blessing this post was for me!!! I was drawn to the title because I just filled my fridge 2 hours ago and thought I could pick up some tips (I like the one about the onions). But your devotion was just what I needed to hear. I wrote "What we behold, we become" in my Bible next to 2 Cor 3:18. You see, I filled my fridge with vegs & fruit because when I was shopping with a friend yesterday, I saw myself in a mirror and was horrified with how I looked, and I'm starting a new weight loss plan. You nudged me to see all this in a different light - seeing myself as being transformed - becoming more like Jesus. Isn't it awesome how God loves us through other people?!!

Here a little, there a little. Line upon line, precept upon precept. I SO appreciate your gospel perspective and that you let your light shine. Keep up your great work in sharing your talents, testimonies, and truths. So grateful for you. 💕

I like the phrase, "the grass grows where we water it." What we focus our attention on tends to flourish. When we worry, our minds get really good at worrying. When we ruminate, our minds get really good at ruminating. When we practice gratitude or mindfulness, our minds get really good at that. Neural pathways develop that help us enter into these new ways of thinking with more ease.

Did you know that comes from the Bible? - 1peter- for all flesh are as grass. And the glory of men as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower thereof falleth away; but the word of the Lord endureth forever.. ( this is talking about the flesh falling away, but the Spirit inside Lives forever.) ( fruit has seeds inside. We are the firstfruits) Jesus is the firstfruits and we are IN him, so we are too. And the Spirit Jesus is the water- with His water you shall never thirst. Deut 32:2- My doctrine shall drop as the rain, My speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: The Bible is a Spiritual book. Written in signified language. Metaphors. The sea is the sea of people. The clouds are the clouds of witnesses. The field is the people where the wheat and tares grow. We all come from a family tree. The evil tree or the tree of Life. Jesus is the root and branch. Rev- I Am the root and the offspring of David. The tree has branches. They bare fruit., seeds. The evil tree has fruit that has corrupt seed, which we’ve all been born from. ( Adam and Eve). But when we believe the gospel we get the INcorruptible Seed which is the word of God, which Liveth and abideth Forever. Everything is beautifully written and explained with these pictures. We believers are the Temple of God. We are Living Stones that build up the Temple. Jesus is the chief cornerstone. 1Tim 2:5- There Is ONE GOD and One Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. The man Christ Jesus is 2- God ( Spirit) ( deity) Man ( Flesh) ( human). John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT and we Must Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth. 2Cor 5:19- GOD WAS IN CHRIST Reconciling The world unto Himself Col 2:9- For IN Him dwelleth All the Fulness of the Godhead bodily Jesus the son died for the sins of the world ( God is a Spirit and cannot die) Was buried and on the 3rd day GOD Raised him from the dead according to the scriptures Believe this and be Saved right now! IT IS FINISHED!! It’s All Been done for you! Believers are born again from the Tree of Life!! There is nothing to do. Just believe in the ONE TRUE GOD!

I chop up onion, that has been in the bin too long, (also peppers and celery) and put it in the freezer then, use that onion in soups and casseroles. The flavor is just as good and it prevents waste. If it is stored in plastic zip bags it can be laid flat while freezing to make it easier to break into portions, if necessary. Thanks for the encouraging words.

I just discovered you on KZbin. Thank you so much for your help. I’m 68 years young and I’m on a constant journey to minimalize. Being raised by parents who lived through the Depression, I was trained to hold on to things. Now I’m trying to change that mindset. I recently bought an instapot because everyone was raving about it. When I took it out of the box, I said to myself, “Do I really need another appliance at this stage of the game? I’ve managed to raise a family all these years without it.” I returned it the next day.

I just want to tell you guys that I just love you and Diana. I related to this video; especially the faith section where Diana reads and prays. Dawn, something you said hit me square in the face. The bit about the preacher who had an addiction and found strength to overpower that after reading the Bible every day spoke to me. I am addicted to food. I am a mood eater and food is a comfort to me. Needless to say I am morbidly obese because of this and have been having the hardest time with it. I was reminded of a time right after I gave my heart and life to Christ when I was reading my Bible a lot every day. Life was so wonderful then even with bad things happening all around me. As to refrigerator drawers: I removed the 2 drawers and now have an extra shelf that is much more useful! Produce is stored in air circulating containers I bought at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Onions are in a wire basket from Dollar Tree that hangs on the wall, potatoes in a wicker basket on the counter on opposite side of kitchen. I do keep tomatoes 🍅 in the fridge, especially in the summer. In Texas, food doesn’t last long when left out in the summer (and our summer is from April to October!). I do put potatoes in fridge during the summer, but only cut onions go in fridge! Diana, I really appreciate your devotional each Sunday!

Here's the fridge hack I've been trying--we've put condiments in the drawers instead of produce. It doesn't matter where the ketchup is--my kids will find it. So anything that I know we won't forget we have (ketchup, mustard, mayo, jelly, etc.), I put in the drawers. Produce and other things that are likely to be lost and forgotten stay in eyesight. The caveat is that the drawer can get a little heavy with all of those jars!

I am on top of the laundry like never before. I am going room-to-room and decluttering what we absolutely do not need any more. One of the things that triggers onions to grow is to go from cool to warm storage. They were in cool storage before they got to the store, so if you store them in your pantry they're going to sprout a LOT faster.

I’m loving your videos, as they are helping me out a ton. You’ve given me SO much good advice, and this video is no exception. I thought I would share a rule that I have for health reasons: I designate the bottom shelf for eggs, meat, and anything else that needs to be cooked before eating. This is a habit I picked up from the restaurant industry and keeps any meat juices or broken eggs etc from dripping on anything else. I usually keep cooked or ready-to-eat food on the top shelf, produce and things that need to be washed on the middle shelf, and meat and eggs on the bottom shelf. New food goes in the back and older food comes to the front or gets thrown away or composted. Hope that helps someone avoid food borne illness or having to throw anything away.

The best tips my mom shared which make sense and she learned as a result of growung up during WWII - when food was scarce and precious is to do two things consistently to avoid food spoilage and waste. This has helped me be more deliberate about using and buying only what we need. One...Plan one day a week for either left overs or to make a dish that will use all the food that won't last much ling. For example...soup or a stir fry or an oven roasted veggies etc. Two....plan to do pantry meals only for a few days or a week..once every other month.

I love all of your videos but my favorite are the ones that your sister joins you in. I love hearing the stories about how the Lord works in peoples lives and her prayers at the end. Thank you both for the motivation, information, and encouragement you give. God bless you both !!

I replaced my fridge drawers with two huge Tupperware fridge smart containers. One for fruits and one for vegetables. It really helps to keep the produce longer!

Came to learn about my fridge, left feeling like my spirit had been renewed. I’m struggling a lot today, and came to watch something light hearted on my lunch break..didn’t realize that you would be praying over me as well. 🙏🏻

Thank you for your fun and encouraging videos. The quote you mentioned was so "to the point". I wrote it down and am going to hang it on my fridge. I need to spend more time in scripture and less time on Facebook!

Ohh, I LOVED this Soo much!! I've been a Christian most of my life but this video alone got me back into the Word this am. I usually don't comment but I just had to take time to thank you for sharing your faith! This is my new favorite minimalist/organization channel. May our Good Father richly bless you both!

I use a glass vase in the back of my fridge to hold eggs. Its easy to see how many I have, it's easy to grab one when I need one, and it makes use of vertical space. I'm thought it was strange when I first heard about it, but we have been doing it for years now and I wouldn't go back 🤷♀️

Best thing we ever did was get the French door fridge. Now I can see all of my food and it doesn't get wasted.

Why haven't frig manufacturers thought about appropriate sized bins on top of each shelf instead of just expecting that people only keep did in the drawers they decide to put in. Or at least an optional bin package that works with the demensions of the frig you're buying!

Thank you for your encouragement to stay in the Word even when you might not be feeling it's effects, it's still changing you from the inside out...bringing out the glory that lives on the inside of us! You posted this over a year ago but I thought you'd like to know that it is still helping people a year down the line. This is an issue that I'm struggling with right now and you helped encourage me at just the right time! You have a great channel btw!

God is Invisible. You can’t see Him! We are Hid IN Christ!! The things seen are temporal!! Things Not seen are Eternal! ( 2Cor 4:18). John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT And we must worship Him in spirit and in truth!! They are Fake. The Flesh is not Godly. The flesh is as filthy rags. Sin and death! The Spirit is Life. We see By Faith. Let our light shine so men can see it. ( By Faith). There is One GOD. And He Is A Spirit. And He is Inside of Every believer! And it doesn’t matter if you read your Bible or not, or do things trying to impress Him, IF HE’s IN You, You Are SPENDING TIME WITH HIM! You don’t turn it on and off! He Loves Us. He want All to be Saved! But you must believe. In the ONE TRUE GOD! And He IS LIFE. And when you have His Spirit in You, You Have LIFE!

What I do with my onions is this. When I buy a bag of onions I put two aside in case I want to coarsely chop them in the next few weeks to put in a stir fry. The rest of them I roughly chop, and put them into the food processor until they're finely minced, so just a few seconds. And then I divide them up into small Ziploc sandwich bags, how ever many bags equals the number of onions that I put in there. I like the flavor of onions when I'm cooking but I do not like chunks and neither do my grandkids. By doing it this way we're both happy. And so then I zip each bag shut, removing the air, and then I put them all into a ziplock bag and put them in the freezer. Not only does it save me time when I'm ready to start cooking something because the onion is already chopped up, but then I also don't need to worry about them going bad before I get to use them. To me, it's a win/win. Just thought I'd share my two cents 😉.

Watching this three years later in the middle of reorganizing my refrigerator, and yet the reminder to spend time in God's Word everyday was just what I needed to hear! That was supposed to be my focus in 2024, and I haven't been doing so well lately. God knows how and when to speak to us in creative, unexpected ways. Thank you both for letting Him use you to reach others.
